ACEPA Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 My drum just stopped rotating on my 6 year old Bosch 7KG series 4 intergrated WKD28352GB WASHER DRYER. All items check good: Water in fine Water out fine Filter clean Door works fine Drum moves freely by hand So is all I get for my money 6 years of use for a very expensive machine? Zero noise in a cycle suggesting the motor is not turning.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted May 8, 2025 Root Admin Posted May 8, 2025 Hi. The drum not turning on a washing machine can be caused by many different faults, so it's hard to know if it is worth repairing or not until it has been diagnosed. Unfortunately though, these days so many appliances are just not worth repairing because repairs are so expensive. I read some years back that the average life expectancy of washing machines was only 7 years, which is backed up by my survey (mentioned below). Many don't even last that long if washing for a big family. According to user votes on my article, how long should a washing machine last? out of 4,348 people, almost 25% said their washing machine lasted 3 years or less, and just over half said theirs lasted 7 years o rless.
