Mark Dunn Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 As stated, stops partway through program,me sometimes after rinse, sometimes before. Will complete by using separate rinse and spin/drain programmes but sometimes fails to drain the water from spinning so the spin/drain programme has to be run again. As it will fill, empty and pump out this doesn't point to a failed unit (pump/pressure switch/valve/motor). All sections of diagnostic mode complete properly. The only fault code I can get is a fhashing start/pause LED. Any ideas?
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted November 25, 2024 Root Admin Posted November 25, 2024 What does it do when it stops? Does it go totally silent and "dead"? Have you checked the pump filter for possible partial blockages? Also a blocked pressure system can cause machine to stop mid cycle. Mark Dunn Posted November 25, 2024 Author Posted November 25, 2024 goes silent, no blockages, it will complete just not as part of a full wash programme.
Mark Dunn Posted November 25, 2024 Author Posted November 25, 2024 start and spin/end LEDs on. Door locked. Sometimes goes to "ready" and unlocks door.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted November 25, 2024 Root Admin Posted November 25, 2024 Is the heater working? Can you open the door when it stops and feel to see if it has heated water up? Even if water has pumped away, the drum should be warm. Need a repair or spare parts? Book a Repair | Spares4Appliances WARNING: Read this before attempting any diy repairs. Mark Dunn Posted November 25, 2024 Author Posted November 25, 2024 (edited) Yes, I've run a diagnostic and the heater is on. Edited November 25, 2024 by Mark Dunn
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted November 28, 2024 Root Admin Posted November 28, 2024 If the heater is not working, it can cause washing machines as to stick, or timeout on heat. As you said earlier, it is very strange because the fact that it continues working okay on rinse and spin shows that all of the functions for that cycle are working okay. Therefore it's very difficult to troubleshoot unfortunately. A blocked pressure system can cause the washing machine to cut out when it has emptied the water and should do a spin but this should normally also affect it on rinse and spin. There is a faint possibility that some gunge inside the pressure system is closing off the air pressure when the water is heated up and the gunge softens. You might want to check out how the pressure system works and common faults, just to be able to look into that Need a repair or spare parts? Mark Dunn Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 My thought would be a duff PCB. I'll look into the pressure system, thanks.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted November 28, 2024 Root Admin Posted November 28, 2024 It certainly could be Mark. The problem is that it's very expensive to replace the PCB, with no guarantee it will fix the fault. So it's a big gamble. I can never advise anybody to replace the PCB for this reason. Mark Dunn Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 Well the PCB seems to be made of unobtainium so not an option. I wouldn't go there anyway, might as well replace. Thanks. Whitegoodshelp 1
Mark Dunn Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Just an extra question, a used pcb at £30, machine 15 years old, new motor brushes, replacement £230, where would you go? Stick with Beko if replacing?
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted December 3, 2024 Root Admin Posted December 3, 2024 15 years is extremely old so it's unlikely to last much longer. Personally I‘d look at Bosh, who have a better reputation with Which? Need a repair or spare parts? Book a Repair | Spares4Appliances WARNING: Read this before attempting any diy repairs.
