Macca4848 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 At the end of a cycle when draining I’m getting this noise which I’m assuming must be the drain pump / motor failing. But before I buy a replacement, I just want to get a second opinion. You can hear it three times in the video thanks in advance, nic
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted November 19, 2024 Root Admin Posted November 19, 2024 Hi. Noises from a water pump are more commonly caused by obstructions inside rather than a faulty pump. Especially if the noise is a loud rattle that might come and go as the object is tossed around. Make sure you check for obstructions. Try removing the pump filter with the washing machine stood up rather than laid down as objects can often float out of the pump and disappear when laid down. Ensure plenty of big towels put down first though. Need a repair or spare parts? Book a Repair | Spares4Appliances WARNING: Read this before attempting any diy repairs. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted November 19, 2024 Root Admin Posted November 19, 2024 BTW the video would not play. I managed to listen to it by downloading it from my server and renaming it. The noise does sound like a possible pump bearing problem. Though check for obstructions anyway. Bear in mind if the motor is running at the sane time, make sure the noise is coming from the pump and not the motor Need a repair or spare parts?
