Jac Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Hi, I’m new to forums but wondered if anyone could provide assistance. I have had a genuine replacement door seal fixed to my whirlpool dreamspace washer, but not sure if fitted correctly, I have used twice since fitting then today got an error A&F message where the washer just stopped, I managed to get this sorted then it showed F11 eventually I sorted this. I took the front middle section off & found some water so now a little worried. I have attached a couple of vids thanks 69481038654__FB723AFF-0A67-4197-9E4E-7B740AF63481.MOV 69481087568__4E6B4E39-E2A9-472A-991B-B3328A54B72B.MOV The black pipe looks fine
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted January 9, 2023 Root Admin Posted January 9, 2023 Hello Jac. Is the door seal fitted correctly? The flap part at about 10 to (on a clock) looks like it is in an unusual position. I usually see those type of things on a washer dryer at the 12 o'clock position. What is that plastic part with holes in it at just close to the 12 o'clock position? Should the flap line up with that? A door seal normally has 3 or 4 small holes right at the bottom at the 6 o'clock position. These allow water left in the bottom of the door seal to drain into the drum and prevent it leaving a pool of water. See if you can locate them around the 6 o'clock to 4 o'clock position. If you can find these small holes, they should be bang on the 6 o'clock position. Regarding the leak, it's possible that the leak is a small leak that was present before you looked at it, or that the league has been caused by the repair. Any leak that has been ongoing for a reasonable amount of time will usually create an easily identifiable trail. You will usually see crusted dried detergent, or obvious streaks. Jac Posted January 9, 2023 Author Posted January 9, 2023 Hi Andy, Thanks for the response the flap part you pointed out is the plastic water inlet pipe opening, there are no water outlet holes on the seal but there are on the plastic drum surrounding. I have taken the seal off starting again following the vid for whirlpool 6th sense dreamspace & still looks same, one vid shows the seal being pushed on a rim in front of the metal drum but I can’t get mine to fix to this, on another vid they don’t show this being attached, which is like mine but I’m sure the old one was connected. Unfortunately pics were not taken so struggling Thanks
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted January 10, 2023 Root Admin Posted January 10, 2023 Hi Jac. Have you thought about my point that the leak may not be anything to do with it in the door seal? Have you had a good look around inside to see if there are any signs such as streaks, and crusted detergent that may indicate a leak? Need a repair or spare parts? Jac Posted January 12, 2023 Author Posted January 12, 2023 Hi Andy, sorry for not replying earlier. We followed your advice & hubby found the water inlet pipe from the dispenser was leaking as well, the rubber seal which attaches to both parts wasn’t fitting properly. I have been trying to obtain both the connector pipe & seal but not having much luck finding part numbers, (pipe looks ok) just in case. I think we also have a problem with the water pressure as it seems to take forever to fill, as though it is running in then straight out again but maybe that’s me just being paranoid now 🤣 Hopefully it’s sorted & thanks again for your help very much appreciated, I will come back for advice if anything else goes wrong. Thanks Whitegoodshelp 1
