notanotherproblem Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 During a washing cycle yesterday I heard a loud noise and opened the lid to see that the agitator stopped moving. Looks like the agitator dogs are in working condition still (see pic attached), so I don't think there's an issue with them getting the grip needed to turn the shaft. is this likely the motor? I'm thinking it might be considering the loud noise. The washer still drains.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted April 14, 2022 Root Admin Posted April 14, 2022 Hi. Sorry it’s a UK washing machine forum and we don’t have those type of washing machines here I don’t think. I’ve never worked in them. Need a repair or spare parts? Book a Repair | Spares4Appliances WARNING: Read this before attempting any diy repairs. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted April 14, 2022 Root Admin Posted April 14, 2022 Having said that it could be the motor but my understanding is that the motor turns the drum on those top loaders via some gearing? So gear problems could account for it too. Need a repair or spare parts? Book a Repair | Spares4Appliances WARNING: Read this before attempting any diy repairs. notanotherproblem Posted April 14, 2022 Author Posted April 14, 2022 I just got done doing some intense Googling and YouTube'ing 😄 I'm fairly convinced I need a new motor coupler. The loud noise it suddenly made when it stopped agitating indicated to me that it was the motor or something close to it.
