Hello everyone!

Glad to be here. I hope anyone could help me sort out a bit of a domestic dispute between me and the missus before I phone up AO and have a bit of a rant.

Brand-new washing machine installed just after Christmas. However the neighbours have been doing a lot of redecoration as well. Every time the washing machine was on we heard this bang bang bang coming from downstairs didn’t think it was the washing machine at all! Thinking it was the neighbours!

A week has passed every now and then bang bang bang. One night I had enough and went downstairs to speak to neighbours and I noticed before I made myself look like an idiot that it was the washing machine!! One of the installers had not secured the feet of the washing machine so every time it was on spin it was rocking backwards and forwards banging on the side unit….

Now my missus is adamant that it has done some sort of damage to the washing machine. She said you can’t buy a brand-new washing machine and let it rattle around without some sort of damage being caused internally. She also reckons as a result some of her jumpers have been pulled.

Now my version is that these washing machines especially Hisense go through vigourous testing and that three or four times of rocking backwards and forwards would have not damaged it at all.

Any views would be greatly welcome!

Many thanks,

Mike

Can’t imagine any damage being done mate. Washing machines can thump around violently and almost leap off the floor, and not necessarily suffer any damage.

I’ve seen them walk across the floor after a seriously bad load and not suffering any damage. Of course they can suffer damage, but if there aren’t any symptoms of a problem it would be bordering on hypochondriacic (I made that word up but it works) to assume there was. 😁

Also, you are not having the washing machine running while you are in bed at night are you? I hope not, washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers are dangerous to leave running totally unattended. They are the cause of hundreds of thousands of house fires.
