Defy Automaid stops after wash

Washing machine does not complete cycle

Model: Defy Automaid 600

It does all the functions separately if you select them, i.e wash, rinse, spin and drain but it doesn't do it by itself like it should. When it is supposed to start draining after washing, the "start/pause" & "wash" lights on the control face start flashing after about 3 minutes and it then stays like that until you press cancel.

Any help is appreciated.

If it has an old fashioned mechanical timer that is run with little motors it could have a fault on the stepping motor.
