Hi, I have a 5year old Hoover WA110. According to Hoover's manual, the machine should take water to about a third of the way up the door window. If it doesn't, they say to use a "Y" piece on the cold water feed with both hoses attached. No matter which way I try to connect the water feed, the washing machine doesn't seem to allow enough time for filling (no matter what the pressure), hence it never takes sufficient water to wash properly. This has always been the case, now I would like to get it to work properly. Any idea how to extend the fill time?

On wash, the water on this model should come to just below the lip of the drum. This is not very much water and is typical of most modern washing machines. Even on rinses, it won't come much higher.

It seems so. The information on the water level is from the technical manual. Hoover washing machines prior to the mid 1980s used to fill at almost half way up the door glass on wash, and over half way up the door glass on rinse. These days you can hardly see any water inside the washer on wash.
