Hi

I have a brand new Washer dryer model WDXOC 485A.

Washing is fine but if I use dryer it works i.e. machine spins and it gets hot but doesn't dry items.

It mentions in instructions about making sure a tap is on, but doesn't say where this is.

Help

Lynn

Hello Lynn. It’s just the cold water tap. The same one that supplies the washing machine. If it wasn’t on the washer wouldn’t wash and rinse. How long have you tried it in dry for and do you take some of the washing out to dry them?

A washer dryer can’t dry a full load normally and needs some taking out.

How long does the drying cycle run for and what do the clothes come out like? Are they warm? I can only assume it’s faulty if it’s never worked, though that’s unusual.

It’s a common fault on washer dryers but not on new ones. It’s normally caused by the cold water not getting into the condenser chamber (faulty valve) or a blockage in the condenser chamber caused by build up of fluff and lint - Laundry coming out of washer dryer hot and steamy

I can only assume it’s faulty as it’s too young to have a blockage and if the cold tap wasn’t on the washing machine wouldn’t work.

I have same isue with my samsung washer/dryer. Washer works exelent, but dryer makes clothes wet. They comes out soaking wet. If i pause it after 30min clothes are warm and feels like they are drying. But if i run cycle till end clothes are soaking wet and hot. I think there is some problem with drain pump. Its not draining fast enough.

Hello Kukiits. If there was a problem with the pump draining the water it should equally affect the washing machine. If you do just a wash cycle do the clothes come out properly spun?

Carefully read my article that I linked to a few replies back. It explains the possible causes of your issue.

I did read that. I cleaned condensen chamber. Cold water is going to condensen. But it looks like there is more water coming in than out.

Is there a blockage at the bottom of the condenser chamber preventing or restricting the water from running into the drum to be pumped away?
