Bosch Not Draining

The only possible faults are -

Something inside the main drum that is blocking the water from going into the sump hose

Something blocking the water from getting from the sump hose into the pump (including the ball sticking). Try taking the ball out btw

The sump hose itself getting kinked or collapsing due to worn or damaged suspension or somehow being fitted wrong

A blockage in the pump filter, or in one of the chambers in or out, or round the impeller

A blockage inside the drain hose

A blockage after the drain hose such as at the u-bend if connected to one

The pump impeller broken on the shaft or pump not running properly or at all

For me the second video you uploaded shows the pump impeller is ok and the pump is running strong enough to pump water. 

I had to take the door off to remove the clips that held the drain pipe on the pump.

It's all back together now, I tried the drain cycle and, low and behold, it pumped some water out into the pan. Not the full amount, but most of it.

I've just put it on a 15 min cycle and I'll see what it does...

ARGH!!!

OK - it's not the pump. I've just run a drain cycle and it worked fine. I've run a 15min cycle and it drained 2 full buckets mid-cycle but again get's stuck at 0:01. What on earth would cause this?

 

EDIT - if it makes any odds, the 15 min cycle was a cold wash.

Hi. As I mentioned earlier, sticking on 1 minute is often the heating element. Not draining water is a totally unconnected fault. It seems like you've sorted the not draining but still have the sticking on 1 minute fault. They could be related in the sense that the heating element may have completely corroded due to the same limescale and gunge you found blocking the drain pipe.

Yeh but given it's a cold wash, I figured the temp sensor wouldn't come into it... I've got a repair guy calling out tomorrow morning. As much fun as it's been dismantling it every night this week, I've run out of patience and time! 

I'll revert back and let you know what the outcome is. Thanks for all your advice!

Thanks. Please do let us know what it is. I would be surprised if the heating element wasn't knackered due to corrosion and limescale.

Update - The issue was solved with a replacement pump! Bizarre that the pump worked mid-cycle but not a full drain! The repair guy said he'd never seen the issue before either. 

In any case, just pleased it's working and I haven't had to shell out £100s on a new machine!
