tomroyal
Hi Having read the Washerhelp review, I recently purchased a JLWM1202. Thought I'd share a little feedback: 1) The order process was excellent. I ordered online, was called the next day to arrange delivery and the machine arrived at the scheduled time a week or so later. The delivery people took away my ancient old washer (this costs £9 extra). 2) The machine itself looks well put together. Being a bit of a geek (I'm a journalist, and I review high-tech products and computers for a living) I took a look inside through the hatch on the bottom - it was all neatly put together, with cables well tied up in place etc. 3) It weighs a ton. It's at least twice as heavy as my old (ancient Hoover Soft Wave) washer. This makes it hard to install, but more stable when spinning. The drum is also far bigger than my old machine. 4) The controls are very easy to use. The push buttons have a good solid-feeling click to them, but the rotary program selector dial doesn't feel very good - it's slightly out of line with the marks, and doesn't "click" very well when turned to a different program. This is my only, and very minor, complaint. All in all I'm very pleased - it works fine, and the three year warranty is reassuring. Thanks for your excellent website and reviews. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted January 6, 2007 Root Admin Report Share Posted January 6, 2007 Many thanks for the feedback Tom, it's much appreciated. I just ordered a new dishwasher and freezer from John Lewis online too and received excellent service throughout. I also love their web site, which is refreshingly simple. The guy they sent to collect my old appliances called me "sir", not in a deferential way, but in a respectful way – they give the good old fashioned service I really want. yoj13
Hi, I was really interested to read your feedback on the JLWM1202. With Washerhelps knowledgable assitance, I too have just placed an order (yesterday) for the same model. Interestingly, I am also replacing a Hoover (Logic 1100) which will be 20 years old on the 5th March, 2007. In all that time, it has had some new bushes and a new door seal, so it owes me nothing. It is immaculate inside and out and as performance and reliability goes, I can't complain. I remember when I first bought it, one of the deciding factors was it was on castors and not many machines these days seem to have this feature. It certainly is very useful when you do need to move the machine and I wish more manufacturers would consider it today. For now, I'm quite excited about the new delivery!!!!!!!!!! - yoj
