Anonymouse Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 My Kenmore front load washer started making a weird squeaky noise and i freaked out and ripped the door open mid cycle right after the water was draining and it was spinning. I bought the plastic piece that snapped and replaced it but it won’t start. Please tell me what to do I’m so devistated i can give you any information you need. It won’t even add water or start the cycle
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted February 23, 2018 Root Admin Posted February 23, 2018 When the door closes it should operate a door lock mechanism. Maybe something else got damaged or knocked out of line and the door latch is no longer operating the door lock mechanism or the door lock was also damaged. Need a repair or spare parts? Anonymouse Posted February 25, 2018 Author Posted February 25, 2018 Thank you we are buying the locking mechanism and replacing it I found a video online I will update after it’s installed.
Anonymouse Posted February 25, 2018 Author Posted February 25, 2018 Quick question, if we try taking it out and putting it back in would that reset it? I mean before we put the money out for a new one or is this a waste of time.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted February 25, 2018 Root Admin Posted February 25, 2018 It’s not something I would expect can be reset. The door has a latch mechanism that fits inside the door lock and operates the latch mechanism inside the door lock. Ensure the door latch mechanism is ok first. They are normally held in a certain position by a spring. If the spring is not fixing it into this position it can’t operate the door lock. Need a repair or spare parts?
