LG F1256QD Power loss

Good evening 

I've tried the search feature on the forum without positive results so thought I would post the question/query. 

I have the above machine and the other day the display went completely dark and there was no power to the unit. We switched it off, tried pressing the 'Play/Pause' button for 5 seconds and the 'Power' button for 5 seconds in various configurations but no cigar. 

I switched off power at the wall checked the socket and found the power supply is ok. Changed the fuse in the plug and checked it the one remove, it was ok but suddenly power returned and I could at least get the drum drained, which is done fine without any strange noises. When it did power on it gave me the error code 'PF', checked and found it's power failure (of course)

I'm aiming towards replacing the PCB but at £120 or so, it's an expensive gamble. Since everything else appears to be in good working order, I'm running out of ideas. 

It has the 'Remote Diagnosis' feature on it which allows someone from LG to 'talk' to the machine over the phone but when I called LG earlier, I was getting no power whatsoever, might try calling them now it's up and running.

Sorry for the late reply. I would never gamble £120 unless I knew the power supply was at fault. Have you found out anything further?
