Hi,
We have an old Electrolux EWT-1315 and now it unusable, but we very like it.
So we decided we will save our old machine.

About 2 month ago the following issue appears:
First 30 min. short program runs successfully.
Second 30 min. short program runs correctly but the 7 segment LED display was flashing randomly
Third 30 min. short program won't run and E90 error displayed.
The service mode wasn't work, E90 error code was displayed. (E90 means communication error)
 I switched off the machine.

The next day I repeated it again, the 1st cycle was success, ...
The next day again.

I disassembled the machine, there wasn't any water drops so I disassembled the main
electric panel. I had found some smoke remainings on the panel.
OK, I ordered a brand new main electronic panel. Today morning I assembled it and
the E90 error appeared on first switch on.
I'm lost, but I don't want to give up.
Have you any idea what should the next step be?

Laxi

ps: sorry my English, I'm Hungarian.

Communication error could be a connection problem between the control panel and the PCB, or a fault on either the PCB or control panel, or a fault with them both. If you check all connections and wires between them and find nothing it's a big gamble trying to replace either the PCB or control panel.

You could try very gently roughening the printed circuit board where the key connectors fit and carefully examining each connector inside the connector blocks to see if any wire is loose or the metal connector has gone so flat it isn't contacting the board's printed circuit. It's pretty much a long shot but worth trying.
