Hi!

I have a Siemens WM16Y890DN with an IDOS. One day I could see that detergent was running out (from the "drawer" on the top to the left where the detergent is put). One of the two small corks was fallen out, so the detergent was running away. I fixed the issue, but what I also did was that I took the whole drawer out (see the attached picture) and washed it with water, then waited until it was more or less dry and then put it back in. After that the machine suddenly started to use too much detergent even though I did not change anything in the settings. The washing machine is full of foam now when it washes. So, I can see now that on the drawer there is a connector (blue on the picture, marked with a circle) which might not like water too much. So, my question is what I could have damaged? I can buy a new drawer, but will this solve the problem for sure, or could it have damaged something inside the washing machine (central computer or something)? So, again - the machine works fine now apart from the fact that it takes too much detergent.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration! English is not my native language, and I apologise if the details are not clear enough.

Alex

Hello. Sorry for a late reply. Yes I would think that the connector should not be immersed in water. Have you tried carefully drying it out with a hairdryer?

Thanks Alex. That's good. As I was hinting in my reply, maybe it has dried out and fixed itself.
