Hi All

We have just bought our first Bosch washing machine. All previous washing machines we have had were Top Loaders by Fisher and Paykel. Our disappointment is centred around the hard crispy towels that we now get.

The Top Loader used to provide us with nice fluffy towels for years. Two washes with the Bosch and the towels feel hard and crispy. We just use the cotton wash with no modified program. What are we doing wrong, we do not use fabric softener, our water is very soft so we know it is not that.

The detergent we use is a liquid that comes as a measured amount in a dissolvable pouch. Please tell me your best advice to get our nice fluffy towels back

Thanks

Zinzan

Towels get very hard and rough if they are over dried. Being hung out too long on the clothes line outside can cause them to go very stiff. Most people always use fabric softener. If you dry them outside, inside or in a tumble dryer don't over-dry them. Also make sure you use the correct amount of detergent as described on the packaging and don't use too fast a spin if it's a really fast spinning washing machine (1400 rpm should be enough). Tumble dryers soften towels up lovely - Save on fabric softener when tumble drying

Thanks for your helpful comments Andy. I guess the main concern to me is this. For the last 40 years we have used a F and P top loader and for ever we have had the best fluffy towels, now we use a Bosch front loader with recommended detergent and correct qty.

suddenly towels are crap. The only real variable that has changed is the machine. Spinning on the horizontal plane instead of the vertical plane.

never used a dryer in my life, always hang on the line, sun and wind , but never crispy towels

cheers

We agree.

Our new Bosch WAN makes all the towels very hard.

We have always had a front loader, and in our old machine the towels were fine.

We wash things on Mixed Load 40 degrees. The towels come out very hard and rough.

Does anyone know why, or is it a fault with the new machine?
