WashingandCooking
Hey everyone, due to some unfortunate circumstance I am out one washing machine and the insurance will not cover anything. Currently I am looking through some used washing machine and the two brands that keep popping up in my price point are HotPoint and Zanussi. They both seem to be floating from 200 to 350, which is a good price point for me and I believe there is a repair man in town who works on them both. He is independent but I am looking at used washing machines so that doesn't really matter. At a glance, what brand would your prefer for a 3 person household? I just got back from meeting the seller I found on ebay and the machine was in much better condition than I thought. She said it had been used for one year and mainly to do a load of sheets here and there so the wear is very minimal. It is even under warranty for the next six months and as it was originally bought in a shop not far from me I will have no issue getting it there if I do end up having a problem. Thanks again for the advice Andy, it helped me pick a great machine.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted September 14, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted September 14, 2017 It's a gamble either way with second hand as even if one is far superior there's no guarantee it's in better condition or will be the best to buy. But I would go for Zanussi over Hotpoint. Need a repair or spare parts? Book a Repair | Buy appliance spares (Cheapest prices guaranteed) Warning: Read this before attempting any diy repairs. WashingandCooking
Thank Andy. Both of the machines are around the same age, but as you said it is impossible to tell the true shape of the machine. One could have done heavy loads all day every day where as the other may have been used once a week for a load of white. Thanks again for the suggestion though, I will be reading more about the specific washer and then contacting the seller.
