Hello all

I have looked at the normal trouble shooting page but could not find an answer, hence my post.

I have the above machine that has developed faults, it is not spinning properly after the final spin (clothes come out very wet) and sometimes the motor keeps running at the end of a cycle.

The machine takes the fabric softner but the clothes do not smell of anything when they come out and feel hard.

We normally run the machine on the automatic setting but have tried it once on the cotton program without any issues.

I have had an engineer look at the machine and he cleaned/descaled the pressure chamber and said that it was clogged and cleaning it would solve the problems, not the case.

Does anyone have any ideas  of what could be causing these problems?

Many thanks

Andrew

Hello,

Same problem: No final spin, won't turn off at end of wash. I've been deep into the machine thanks to a lot of other advice on this website. Everything de-scaled, clean and clear. New brushes. If the pressure switch was faulty would it effect the final spin and would it effect other parts of the wash as well? Really appreciate any help.

Also, this website is streets ahead of any other advice site i have found. Good work indeed.

The pressure switch is what tells the washing machine when it has water inside and when it does not. Before fast spin the pressure switch needs to be off. If the pressure switch is still on because either there is actually water still inside the machine, or it has been pumped away all right but a blockage in the pressure chamber is causing the switch to be held on then the machine won't do a spin. It should do this slow turning back and forth bit but will never kick into a fast spin or may actually just switch off midway through the spin cycle.

These days most washing machine should produce some sort of error code by either flashing lights or lighting up specific option buttons or literally by displaying an actual error code.

To understand how the pressure system works check this article out - faults on pressure system

However, a washing machine not doing a fast spin can have many other causes too which are discussed in this article - washing machine won't do fast spin

Fixed. A bit more tinkering with the pressure switch and she is up and running again. Thanks so much for the clear and concise guidance. If the original poster wants a detailed run through of steps that I have taken let me know.
