gelt Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I have a Hotpoint bhwd129/uk/1 which won't drain, it fills, washes but when it comes to draining it attempts to drain for a second, then stops after a short while the lights begin to flash (across the bottom flashing amber lights 1200 600, extra rinse, super wash ,eco wash and start pause, also on the vertical amber lights from the top 2(spin), 3(dry), the door locked red light is also lit ( but I guess this is always lit in operation.) I have checked the filter and hose, also I have changed the drain pump but the problem persists. any help would be appreciated thanks
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted August 11, 2015 Root Admin Posted August 11, 2015 When you say it attempts to drain for a second, have you established if any water gets pumped out at all? In other words does it pump a small bit out then stop or does no water come out at all? Also, can you hear if the pump is running when it does this? Have you checked through this article? Washing machine won’t drain water Need a repair or spare parts? Book a Repair | Spares4Appliances WARNING: Read this before attempting any diy repairs. gelt Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 The pump does spin, it makes the draining noise , I also know when I manually empty the drum I can see the propeller spin but then it cuts out. does this seem like a PCB problem?
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted August 17, 2015 Root Admin Posted August 17, 2015 Unfortunately in order to diagnose such a fault you would need to establish if the pump is cutting out due to overheating, getting jammed or an internal fault, or it's stopping because the power supply is getting cut off. If the power supply is cutting off it could be a pcb fault or a fault on the pressure system, or even a faulty connection somewhere. Need a repair or spare parts?
