hi, just wondering if it is normal for my hotpoint washing machine to fill with hot water, yet the door only feels warm, sometimes lukewarm, onsay a 60 dgree wash when the water is really hot on fill. many thanks for reading

Aye, these days water levels on wash are so low that hot water doesn't really splash much onto the door. If the machine finishes the cycle in normal time and laundry is clean it should be working ok.

oh yeah both answers make sense, however I stopped the machine while there was still water in the drum (I know technically meant to let it finish cycle) and the water was luke warm. it appears to be washing clothes as normal and does the cycles as nomal and in normal time, is this normal?

There are 2 possibilities here, depending when you stopped the machine. Firstly the heating element hadn't had a chance to do its job yet. Secondly the water had a chance to cool given enough time. You certainly shouldn't be able to touch water which is 60 degrees in temperature.
