Hoover Wmh 139D Washing Machine

Hi. I am currently experiencing a problem with my washing machine. It is a Hoover optimum EmMY 139 D. When I select the programme and the start button the door interlock sign keeps flashing and the door won't lock and commence the wash. I have replaced the interlock but the problem remains. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you

One possibility is that the door catch isn't operating the door interlock properly. When the door is closed the door catch should locate inside the interlock and operate it causing it to lock, then the light would stop flashing and the machine start up. If the door catch is loose or broken or even misaligned it could interfere with the process. Check it carefully, spray some wd-40 into the door interlock and make sure the door is firmly closed.
