Greetings,

My 10 year old Candy CBL85 has served us very well.

Recently we have had to use the cold washes as the two main wash cycles do heat the water, but stop at the spinner section

If the spinner section is switched on again, after a failed cycle it will spin, but at a reduced speed (it will go up in increments to 650 rpm and not 850 as normal.)

The whole cycle seems normal up to the spin part except for the appearence of white mist. I thought it was smoke, but it doesn't smell like smoke. Its like a white mist coming out of all the cracks in the upper part of the machine. I removed the lid and ran the programme again, but it was difficult to see where the mist was coming from. It looked as if it was starting in the PCB area or programme selector clock, (they are very near each other) , but I am not certain.

There is no mist when using cold or 35 minute programmes.

Can you suggest something worth trying, perhaps a replcement part or board.

I would appreciate you opinion

Wulfrun

I can't think of anything to advise you to do which would be useful. Just changing PCB boards with no knowledge of whether something else is also faulty is too much of a speculative gamble. This needs looking at by an engineer.

Thank you for your reply

The machine is now showing another fault.

When switching on any programme, the water is switched on and continues relentlesly until it comes out of the top of the detergent draw.

Time for a new machine?

Looks like it's not likely to be a cheap repair. 10 years isn't bad by today's standards.
