Washing Machine Not Working After Connecting To Hot Tap

My cousin has got Zanussi ZWF 1221 S washer and after moving house the washer pipe wouldnt reach the cold connection i told her to get a longer pipe but one her friends decided after i had gone to connect it to the hot pipe.

It worked for mayb 2 washes but obviously broke and now she wants me to fix it. It comes on and buzzes but no water or spinning and was wondering if you anyone knows what to change first the thermostat or motor/ Any ideas would be great thanks
