Hello

It seems that during washing the WT2780 is noisier when rotating counter clock wise than clocwise. Clockwise is virtually silent, but counterclock wise produces a slight winy noise ... basically you can hear the motor ...

Is that normal?

Regards

Massi

Not really, the sound should be the same which ever way it turns. It could be a sign of something like a carbon brush problem, or I've known drums to catch on door seals or make a noise from the bearing seal inside. You could try taking the belt off and seeing if the noise can be heard when you turn the drum by hand. It's possible it's nothing to worry about, even that it could disappear on its own but without hearing it it isn't possible to judge whether it should be looked at or not.

Could also be the other part of the sensor system for the dryer. This is a carbon brush located in the bearing spider and it runs on the drum shaft providing a circuit between the drum, clothes and the sensor on the glass door and this is how the 'auto dry' feature is calculated. Occasionally they 'squeal' usually in one direction. Sometimes it wears off, sometimes it doesn't.
