Hi there, my Miele WT2670 has started tripping whatever circuit it is on.

This happens on the default temperature for the cottons cycle which I think is 60 degrees. If I turn the temp down to 30 degrees (which I know I should be doing anyway!) then it doesn't seem to happen (I am testing this today).

Would I be correct in thinking this is going to be something to do with the heating element and if so is this an easy thing for a competent DIYer (that's me!) to sort out? I haven't had a look inside the machine yet to see if there's any obvious problem, that's my next step.

Many thanks in advance...

James

If it was the heating element it should trip as soon as it is energised. You can't diagnose a tripping or fusing fault without a special insulation test meter so unless you can see an obvious issue you need an engineer. I have some general help here though - washing machine fusing or tripping the electrics
