HI! I have a Siemens Siwamat XL 1440 front loading washer. I put in a single bed blanket and started the cycle. Part way thru - before spin - the machine stopped and I cannot get a digital read-out to appear so I can't start the machine. The door opens and I removed the blanket which was soaked. there is still water in the drum. I unplugged the washer and re-plugged - no change.

I am wondering if there is a re-set button or if there is a fuze - where is it? I have checked the house circuits and all are on. - no breaker has flipped.

So, what to do?

thanks

Jode

A single blanket could be difficult or even impossible to balance and the machine may refuse to spin it. Without a spin there would be water left in the drum. There's no reset button that I'm aware of. Try draining the water out of the machine using advice here - Washing machine won't empty water and try it again (but not with the single sheet). Other than that check no lights are flashing or lit up, which could be indicating an error code.

If it's completely dead with no lights check out this article Washing machine is dead though it only offers basic advice. You may need to get an engineer with a test meter.
