Hi, In March 2018 I had an issue with my ISE W288 when it stopped mid cycle. I managed to track the problem down to a blown resister and chip on the controller board. Because my soldering skills were not up to scratch i ended up buying a new controller. Everything was working fine until a week ago when I heard a loud pop and the machine stopped mid cycle again. This time I traced the problem to the motor Frequency Converter Module. A small surface mounted capacitor has blown and taken out a number of other small components at the same time. My question is could there be something else wrong with my washing machine that is causing components to blow or am i worrying t…

Have just come across this very useful web site - brilliant idea, Washerhelp! Please can you tell me if service manual/circuit diagram/sequence chart are available for the ISE-C1555WH, where they can be obtained, and the approximate cost? I normally do my own appliance servicing, so this is quite important to me if I'm going to buy one! Best wishes, Martyn

Hi, I must say that this website has been very helpful so far with all the info provided. I am in the process of replacing my Miele W698 Hydromatic machine, it unfortunately suffered from the same fault three times (temperature controller). My confidence in Miele has been rocked slightly, which is why I am looking at the ISE. I should point out that the Machine is now 13yrs old though. its first failure was 3yrs after purchase the second failure was only Jan last year, and now it has failed again. Now to the point, does the Miele W4144WPS or the ISE have a steel outer drum? On your opening info about buying a new machine it is mentioned that this is a good feature. Ar…

There's a very good internet price on the ISE machine (£351) but the supplier cannot fulfil the guarantee as he covers London and St Albans, and I live many miles from there. He did say, however, that the CDA CI555 is an identical machine albeit with a different guarantee: 1 year labour, 5 years parts. Does anyone have any experience of CDA machines? I did a search on the forum but couldn't find anything about them. Thanks for your help.

I've just bought one, online. It's being delivered and installed on Monday. Has been chosen over and above a Bosch WFR2869 which I could have got for £449 inc. delivery but only a two year guarantee. The reason I chose the ISE is A: I was convinced by the arguments on this site. B: It was the 5-year parts and labour guarantee that really swung it. C: The last machine we had was a Hotpoint, absolute rubbish, even when it was fixed under warranty the hassle of getting it done was unbelievable, being passed between the dealer and the manufacturer like a hot potato. I hope I made the right decision, I'll be letting you know!

Interested to read about the ISE Washing Machine, and particularly the idea of local independent repair/support. However, the downside of a local independent repairer is the lack of a 'big name' behind them (we are considering either the ISE machine, or a Bosch from John Lewis). What happens if our local supplier moves or goes bankrupt? What happens if ISE goes bankrupt? What happens if we move out of the area? There is no information about ISE itself or the guarantee on the iseappliances.co.uk website. Is the guarantee insurance backed and transferable between repairers? Many thanks

Hi! I bought a new ISE 4 days ago and have been washing one or two loads each day so far. I'm very happy with the machine so far, I'm only surprised about a funny smell that seems to be coming from the machine. It's difficult to describe the smell, maybe very slightly like burnt plastic, but I'm sure it is not actually burnt plastic. I have had to open the window when using the machine, but I think the smell is not as strong anymore as in the beginning. Is this normal? Also, one other thing I have noticed is that small items can get stuck next to the window/door of the machine and when the machine has finished washing these small items are still soaking wet because the…

I wanted to record our experience with the ISE washing machine after four months of use. The ordering and installation process was quick and easy through FFR Services of Luton. Only disappointment was that there was no facility to dispose of the old machine but the engineer kindly helped manoevre the old machine into the car for a trip to the dump. Our washing needs are fairly simple - lots of 40 degree washes for school and work clothes - and the machine does these well. It seems quieter than the old Bosch and there are fewer dials and buttons to fiddle with. After about 100 days, however, the machine developed a fault and would not go into a wash cycle. After consul…

Having purchased an AEG machine which lasted 6 years (not bad by today's standards but not good enough for the price I paid) and a Bosch which lasted 3 years 6 months (and had already had a £170 repair when I decided enough was enough) I have just purchased an ISE on the advice of your website and being impressed by it's history and 5 year warranty. Great service so far from Belec in Bury, Greater Manchester: friendlyand efficient. Very happy with machine too. Hope my satisfaction continues......

ISE is no longer trading. This is was a new concept in supplying washing machines by an independent washing machine repairers group called UK Whitegoods. ISE stands for, Independent Service Engineering, and is, "a washing machine promoted by experts". This laudable concept promises a much needed antidote for the frustrations associated with buying and maintaining many modern washing machines which are not lasting anywhere near as long as they should - with hidden financial and environmental consequences..
