Water drains back in drum after wash has completed

Hi we have recently purchased a Hotpoint Ultima S-line washing machine - although generally pleased water seems to be drains back into the drum after the wash cycle has been completed and the assiocated clothes removed.

The water is a brownie colour ...  any thoughts anyone?

Hello Paul. This is almost certainly caused by an incorrectly installed washing machine drain hose, allowing water that's poured into the sink to run down into the washing machine. It's explained fully in my article on Whitegoodshelp - Washing machine drum fills with water when switched off
