elgee Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Hi. My elderly parents (with incontinence issues) have just bought a Bosch WAQ283S1GB vario perfect. Problem is the quick wash only seems to run for 15 minutes which seems very short to achieve reasonable results. My mother also finds the controls and settings very confusing. I'm hoping I can find a simple way for her to set a quick wash that will cover all contingencies with a short cycle of 30 minutes or so? Has anybody had the same problem and found a solution? Thanks
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted December 30, 2014 Root Admin Posted December 30, 2014 A quick wash cycle taking only 15 minutes is a gimmick, useless for most people. Maybe if you'd worn a shirt for 3 or 4 hours in cool conditions and then just wanted to freshen it up it might be ok, but any laundry that is dirty needs a proper wash. Unfortunately all modern washing machines take a long time to wash compared with older ones. If laundry is lightly soiled I would try the proper wash cycle but using option buttons such as half load and economy wash, but if soiled though incontinence issues, any quick wash cycle would be very inappropriate. I would use the proper wash cycle as indicated on their wash labels for that - why modern washing machines take longer to wash Need a repair or spare parts? JetSystem Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Sorry, I'm a little late with this one. Bosch Varioperfect should have a button called "vario speed" or "speed perfect". This can be used on any of the cottons cycles to reduce the wash time to around 1 hour - 1 hour 20 mins. Your folks should be fine using cottons 40 for clothes and cottons 60 for sheets and towels. If there's anything with, errm, unpleasant stains on, I would recommend going higher for hygiene. Whitegoodshelp 1
