Can I connect hot and cold washer just to cold tap?

Hello,

I have LG WD12346RD washing machine and this one has cold and hot feed. I was wondering is it possible to run a machine with hot pipe capped? Most of the washing machines run on cold feed, so why this one can't? I don't want to disconnect it from hot feed because I don't know what happen. Could somebody clarifies this for me?

It was written for people who move house and find they don't have a hot tap but it is perfectly relevant for someone who doesn't want to use their hot tap or maybe has a faulty one.
