Gorenje W6643N/S trips circuit breaker

Recommended Posts

6 year old washing machine started to trip circuit breaker when i turn it on (this happens immediately when i move switch form off position)

I checked wall plug, cable, mains filter everything was fine. Eventually i found that if pressure switch is disconnected washing machine works.

So if i disconnect pressure switch machine will turn on and work (it will have problems, for example not know when to stop pumping out water)

So is this part at fault, how could it cause washing machine to trip breaker?

Hello. I've never heard of a pressure switch tripping the electrics and I can't see how it's possible. It's much more likely that in disconnecting the pressure switch you have also taken out other wiring and components where the fault actually lies. Without a proper insulation test meter though you won't be able to find the fault. However, my article here may be helpful washing machine tripping or fusing electrics

Thanks for the quick reply
I also thought that pressure switch can't create shorts on its on.
Since all other components work (motor, heater, pump...) problem is possibly in main pcb?
I think that i will need to call professional service unfortunately...

Hi. As my article says, one of the most common causes of low insulation on a washing machine is a heating element. I'd suspect that first but you need to test it with an insulation test meter ideally.
