Hi,

My LG washing dryer has been displaying a dHE error code.

It's 30 months old so it's out of warranty so I thought I'd take a look myself. I've discovered the following:

1. The wire between the heating element and a detector next to it has sheared

2. The rubber/foam seal between the top and bottom sections of the heating element housing wasn't properly installed so it's disintegrated in places and a white plastic box next to the heating element (no idea what it is!) has started to melt from the heat escaping where the seal is missing.

I can fix the broken wire with a new connector but I think the heat damaged the wire so I also want to fix the seal but I don't know where to get the seal from. It's kind of rubbery just a big long strip that's a square cross section approx 4mm square.

Any ideas if this is a standard thing or do I need to go to LG for it?

I'm a bit disappointed that a £600 machine should suffer issues due to build quality - if a part had failed then I could accept that but for it to break down due to being put together badly is not good...

Thanks for any help/advice.

Gareth

Good thinking Gareth, they should have access to full parts breakdowns.
