Hi all, I have an issue with my Bosch Maxx Classic front loader that I am hoping someone can help me with. Basically the drum will not spin and makes a humming type noise when attempting to do so. When I put the washer on 'spin' with no load (nothing inside) it will not turn but if I commence the spinning manually myself like helping it to start turning it picks up speed and performs as normal. So basically the drum does spin but just cannot START turning under its own power. Would this indicate that I am dealing with a brush issue or perhaps a faulty capacitor? Thanks for any help you can give me with this

Can anyone advise what may be wrong with my 7 yr old Miele prestige plus W524. It is working through the cycle but is not properly emptying the water out on spin. It knows there is water there as when I drain it out manually and the set it to drain spin it the spins at full speed and the clothes come out drier. I don't think it is rinsing and draining properly either as there are still suds when it spins. We have checked the filter and the propeller is spinning and I can hear water going into the pipes under the sink. We have checked the hoses and can't find anything wrong. I can't decide whether go call the engineer or replace the miele with a new cheaper machine. Any ad…

Hello all i have checked the troubleshooting page and not got anywhere. we have chemically tasting water from the kitchen tap. After contacting our water supplier we have isolated the issue to the washing machine. I've been told its the non return valve failing. Speaking to many people I'm not sure what this is. would it be classed as the inlet valve and if so would this cause water from the machine ending up in the drinking water from the tap. P.S once isolated from the water supply the water from the kitchen tap tastes fine. Also the water from the bathroom taps tastes fine also weather washer is connected or not. Thank you for any help on this one. its a hot…

As the title says, I have an ISE W288 eco Washing Machine. It is five years old and as ISE has folded and no longer has it free parts and labour guarantee. The other day I put a wash on, it got to the rinse cycle and then stopped. No power, No lights, nothing. I have checked the fuse and the plug socket and have opened up the machine and put a circuit tester across the mains input and power is getting as far as the control module. The on/off button does not respond, so the machine is dead. Am I right in thinking that the problem could actually be the control module rather than the door mech or heater element. The machine is in good condition, is kept clean and h…

Hi Andy, This a great site you have here. So generous with your help. I wonder if you could offer me a little advice? I suspect the heating element has gone on my Miele Prestige Plus 6 washing machine as it keeps tripping the electrics when it gets to a certain point in the cycle. I saw the part can be bought and set out on taking the washer apart. Using some good info on here I managed to remove the front and sides and think I’ve located the heater element. Now I’m stuck though - I can’t work out how to remove the heater element. Can you help at all? Please see attached pic, have I got it right, is this the heater element? Thanks, …

I have a Bosch WKD28351GB which is 4 years old, I've only ever used it for washing but tried to use it for (gentle) drying for the first time. The machine ran for about 5 minutes and then tripped the RCD, resetting the RCD was not possible without unplugging the machine. After leaving it unplugged for an hour or so, I tried again and it did not trip the RCD. So I tried running the dryer again but the same happened i.e. after 5 minutes of running the RCD tripped. After some googling I read about the mains filter capacitor and since taking the lid off I did notice that this was the area which got quite warm whilst the lid was on. I have 20 years experi…

I Recently had my drive belt slip off on my Candy CMD146 Washer-Dryer which i managed to refit without much trouble, then two days later the belt was split in two right round the whole circumference of the belt. I have now purchased a new belt which fits perfectly (Not too tight, not more than a quarter inch play in the belt where it isnt connected to the motor or drum), however it slips off the drum wheel towards the drum after only 2-3 revolutions by hand! this is getting very frustrating as i can see no reason for this to be happening and Myself and my girlfriend are running out of clean clothes! Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance Neil D P…

The drum in my Hotpoint AQXGF149PIUK has dropped by about and inch when empty but around two inches when clothes inside. The inner metal drum is solid and does not move in the casing and no strange noises from the bearings. I have replaced the three tub assembly springs that hold it up and replaced the dampening legs underneath and still the same problem. Is there anything else that could cause this drop? Belt has slight movement if pushed inwards to test tension so not sure if this would cause it. There is no unusual noises but is slightly louder at full spin which I think because of the drop. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I've got a Hoover DYN 9164DPG and today mid cycle it came up with an E03 message. Google says this is a drain problem? I opened the drain filter line and a fair bit of water came out but both the drain line and filter seem to be clear and the pump is turning ok. Even now with the machine fully drained it still won't go on to a spin cycle and the pump keeps running. I took the hose off the pressure switch and that seems clear too. Could the switch itself be broken? Many thanks, Rich.

My washing machine is just over 30 months old and developed fault 3e. Samsung refuse to honour the warranty, saying I had not registered the extended 5 years, which I have done. The machine sticks and the drum shudders; If put on pause it will wash after 2-3 hours of consistently pausing it. Does anyone know what this fault is? Could it be the motor? Thanks

Hello, I'm Having trouble with my indesit wixxe127, it wouldn't start the cycle then display "door" , pulled the door lock off and it was burned at the connector so I have replaced the lock with a new one and rewired the connections but it still has the same problem, if I bypass the door lock the red padlock lights up and it starts up for about 1 second then stops, is this likely a faulty main pcb?

Hi, our Hotpoint Aquarius WDL5290 washer/dryer has suddenly got very noisy on spin, it did vibrate a lot prior to this, but the noise has suddenly increased. You can see/hear it here: http://www.mediasave.co.uk/washer.mp4 The washer is level and when turning the drum by hand it is not noisy, any ideas where to start? Thanks Tony

I have a Zanussi FLS1183W. It will wash, but not spin. I have read the troubleshooting guide and consequently have tried the following without success: - Checking for obstructions in drain pipes - Checking correct function of drain motor - Checking that pressure switch pipe is not blocked - Checking that pressure switch works (3 clicks each given different combinations of continuity from the 8 connector pins. Have not been able to check that combinations are correct since I cannot find a wiring diagram. However I have confirmed that machine is correctly detecting partial and complete filling.) - I have also removed and replaced all connections to …

Hello, I currently have a 4 year old Beko WMI 71641 washing machine. Last week, during the drain cycle - water was spraying into the machine via the detergent drawer - which is obviously not what it should be doing while on drain. I was advised that it is more than likely the main front board.. so I found a company online who harvest parts from machines and they managed to find me a new front facia with board included and posted it out to me. This weekend we fitted the new facia and board and the immediately put the washing machine onto spin/drain setting and it worked! - no more water coming in. Problem solved.. or so i thought.. Last nigh…

I've just moved into a new flat which has a Baumatic BWD 1212 Fully Integrated Washer dryer, supposedly in good working order. It washes fine until I put in a load of towels. The load is not too big, I've washed the same load in other washing machines with no problem. I'm putting liquid detergent directly in the drum, in the cap that comes with the detergent, it's 2-in-1 with added fabric conditioner. The problem is that halfway through the cycle the washing machine suddenly starts building up with loads and loads of foam, so much that it's all that can be seen through the window and it starts leaking out of the sides of the door and also out of the dispenser drawer, quit…

Hi, I am having trouble with large amounts of foam leaking from the detergent dispenser drawer on my Beko WMA 767 washing machine and was hoping someone here might be able to help. I have been to excessive foam in washing machine page here: too much foam (those are my comments under the article) so that should give you an idea of what's been happening and what I've tried. I have recently moved house but used to have a similar issue in my old house only not as often as it is occurring now, it's now happening pretty much with every wash. I normally would use the Tesco own-brand liquitabs but since the foaming I read it was perhaps an idea to use powder instead so I have n…

I have a Bosch Maxx 7 WAE24362FF/34 - very similar to a UK WAE24369GB - only a few years old. On all cycles, it finishes at 0:01 with a click-a-click-a-click noise (dunno if the clicks are normal or not - I don't think they are?). There is no water visible in the drum BUT if the clothes are left in the drum for an hour after it finishes there is a powdery stain on the bottom items - as though they have sucked up dirty water. From reading the forums I have tried some self-help - I have replaced the drain pump, run a program with white vinegar and run a few 90C cycles but no difference, I ran a 15 min express with the outlet pipe in a bowl at floor level but no differen…

Hi all and many thanks for taking the time to read this.. I just wanted to pick your brains for advice about how to go about changing these.. Have a hotpoint 1600 spin machine which has given years of good service, and so am prepared to spend a little time and money repairing the old girl.. Essentially, the drum bearings have failed. Thing is, I replaced all of these a couple of months ago with a bearing and seal kit off e-bay. Now, research tells me that really, i should have replaced the spider and shaft as well, there was a little wear on it, but I knurled the worn diameter of the shaft to make the front bearing a snug fit again (the bearings were a good interference f…

Hello I have looked at the common problems/troubleshooting section on this site, but the below problem appears to be a different one to those covered there. We have a Bosch washing machine which has worked well for several years. We normally use the same program, 40 degree wash which takes 1 hour 10 minutes. However, for a number of days, on this program it now: i) just washes for 1 hour 10 mins (no rinse/spin etc). The timer counts down to 0.01 ii) then continues to wash with the timer on 0.01 for about 30 minutes iii) the timer then goes to (approx) 45 minutes, and then continues to wash, spin, rinse, spin etc to 0.00, as if on a normal wash. The washing comes ou…

On all the programs except the 15 min quick wash or rinse/spin the Bosch Exxcel 8 washing machine gets stuck at the end of the wash cycle, the drum just slowly rotates in one direction and then the next continuously. Softener remains in the tray unused and the only way to complete the wash is to switch to one of the other mentioned cycles. Does someone know what might be wrong? edit: I've checked the pump filter and apart from a few collar stiffeners which i've cleared, there was no blockage.

Hi All Today my Indesit WIXXE127 was in a normal number 7 wash cycle, half way through we heard a banging noise but the washer carried on as normal. When the machine got to 5 minutes left it was still full of water and didn't complete the drain part of the cycle. I then put it onto a drain cycle and it sticks with 2 minutes on the count down timer. The washer will not open or drain the water inside it. Can you help? Thanks in advance.
