I've got a Daewoo washer drier trips out on fault E6 on every program. The service manual gives "In case motor detected with EMG port is of 20A or higher". It says clear the fault and reset by turning off the power. The problem has not gone away. Chatting the the Daewoo guys they are not familiar with this, suggest fishing around the repair community, or change the motor and/or PCB! Has anyone any experience of this?...an overload on the direct drive motor can only be in the drum itself, a bearing of something jammed, so even changing motor & PCB would not cure this. The drum turns freely with no noise or scraping, the motor windings look OK no sign of water or bur…

Hi, bit of a novice on tiny stuff. The old 9 yr old washer was spooling up and started clunking. Not sounding good, had a look and the drum is moving laterally as well as vertically. Popped the top off, and the dampers feel really weak. Gentle push and it bottoms, looks like fine oil at the base too. Should they be this weak? Is there anything to stop the drum moving laterally apart from inertia? Thanks in advance.

So I was moving the washing machine and this part just came flying off. I'm not actually sure whether it came from the machine but I would really really appreciate it if anyone could tell me what it is. Just in case it's important. It's cylindrical with a typical hexagonal pattern kind of like a basic football. Thanks ahead of time.

Hi I have a Indesit Innex washing machine that has a pitifully slow spins peed on short washes. Is is possible to fit a new switch/dial that you can by pass the set spin speed and set a higher speed or is it all in a chip and cannot be altered?

The above machine has started banging whilst on 1200rpm spin it sounds like a tractor on tick over! The drum does appears to be out of balance when spinning. Bearings seem ok. Took lid off to see if concrete block was loose, but was ok. Checked the bolts. Went underneath to see if dampers loose, they look ok but was difficult to try and move them as the drum had rested on the back on the machine as I had it tip backwards at 45 degrees. thanks for any help

I have an elderly Hotpoint Aquarius WMA33 washing machine. It works fine during "wash" cycles and water pumps out okay but on "rinse and spin" water gushes out of the soap powder dispenser. It happens after the rinsing phase; just as the spin phase begins. When I tried it with the soap dispenser removed, I could see the water was coming back up from the drum - and there's quite a lot of it. At the same time there is a small amount of water coming out of the rear drain-pipe, so the pump appears to be working. Any ideas?

Hi, I have Bosch Exxcel washer dryer model number WVD2452BGB /04. It is just coming up to 6 years old and this morning it decided to stop working. I normally run the machine's cotton eco programme which takes around 1hr and 30 minutes. However when I went to check on it, I noticed that the drum was still full of water and foam despite the timer displaying 1 minute remaining. The cycle continued to overrun by 20 minutes until I manually stopped it by turning the dial to off. From what I observed, the drum was at turning at same slow speed and at no point did the pump kick in to drain the water. I then tried the rinse programme and was met with complete silence - no pum…

This problem just randomly happened one day when I was turning on the washing machine. It doesn't try to fill with water nor pump out water. It's completely silent and all lights are flashing on the machine. Looks like the black capacitor is leaking a little from the top. Could this be the issue? Or could the issue be that relay you see in the background that seems to have burned a little? It's a indesit wilb12. Yes I have tried to reset the program by holding the start button and also left the power to the machine out for one day straight.

Hi, My Mum has an old Indesit WIL 103 and told me that the machine was making funny noises. It turns out that one of the plastic pins connecting the shock absorber piston to the drum has shattered and vanished. Whilst looking around I noticed that there are a line of contacts and one of them is badly burnt / melted. It's connecting a brown wire so I assume it's a live wire and the connection just came away in my hand. I took some pictures of it which I hope are attached to this post. So, my first question is - is this safe to fix? The bit it was connected to was very rusty (now sanded down) so I don't know if it's just a case of rust causing a…

Hey guys, I've just signed up in desperation of some help so I will apologise in advance for coming here looking for something straight of but after reading parts of the forum I think someone here could hold the answer I need. I've also read through the Troubleshooting guide and nothing there fits with my problem. I had the bearings replaced under warranty before it expired. The machine came back with an occasional squeaking noise going into and coming out of a spin. The engineer thought it could be the shocks and replaced them too but the noise remained. So the insurer wrote the machine off and paid me a reduced amount to keep it. It's a bit of a long stor…

Hi I have been reading your article Washing machine not spinning at end of cycle in detail, but I don't find the answer to my issue. Hence below detailed description of issue: I am having issue that my Asko Cylinda 11002 from 1991 with Siemens motor has stopped spinning, but washes and drains water OK. I.e. it proceeds to end of program. This issue has developed over last year or so, but now it does not spin at all. Earlier on it was spinning at 90 deg. program only. So far I have checked: 3 rubber pipes to level switch N1 and N2 – ok Y connection – ok carbon brushes of motor – ok driving belt OK (checked when motor was…

I've looked at your common faults document, as well as everything I can find online to answer this question. I returned home to discover the wash/dry had stopped, it was stuck on about 58 minutes drying left. I turned to zero, waited for the door to unlock, and removed the laundry. I didn't think too much more of it. I loaded the machine for another wash tonight, turned the knob - and it just shows the LCD timer bar, nothing else. No buttons seem to do anything. I've tried all the online solution suggestions I can find including turning to 1 o'clock and holding power, turning to 6 o'clock and holding timer, then to 7 o'clock and holding timer (doing th…

Had this machine since mid 2015, Indesit 1600 rpm 9kg machine, worked fine until washer stopped working two weeks ago with all lights flickering and wouldn't drain out, I unblocked some fluff from drain hose at bottom of machine and turned back on, it worked for four days and then got stuck on the rinse and spin cycle, kept filling up and then draining all the time and wouldn't spin fast, so had to power off and put on spin and drain, it then worked on small loads only but then got stuck on a towel wash.I looked at trouble shooting guide and it suggested it could be a problem with the drain pipe, I have had these in various positions as suggested and believe it can't be a…

Hi, i have recently discovered a fault with my Bosch Exxcel washer /dryer. i can start a wash, it performs the cycle - but when it gets to the end of the cycle it stays at 1min remaining and the the machine won't finish which is quite frustrating. (often there is water still in the machine) i have found a work around whereby when the machine gets stuck - i just turn off and then put on 15 min rinse / spin cycle & for the time being that seems to clear issue up - but this is tedious to do every time i want to use my machine i have to be present at the end of the cycle to switch modes. I have looked at the filter (at the bottom right of machine) for …

Desperately looking for solutions - express cycle 20 mins ok, spin cycle 7mins ok, automatic plus 89mins stopped halfway. could it be the circuit board? I realised if the washer runs for more than a hour it will shut automatically and it will only start/turn on after few mins resting. Such a pity to dispose a 5yrs washer. any opinions?

Bosch washing machine started tripping circuit breaker during normal hot wash. It drains ok, spins ok, does a cold wash ok, but part way into a hot cycle it trips trip switch and water never heats up, so I assumed it was a dodgy heating element. I opened it up, removed heating element and multimeter reads 26 ohms across its live/neutral pins. My calculation is (220 x 220v) / 2000W = 24.2 ohms, so it's pretty close. No continuity between live/neutral and earth. Thermostat/temp probe is reading around 5 ohms, with multimeter dial at 20k, and falls with rising temp if I warm it up, so seems to be working too. If it's not the heating element or temp. sensor …

AEG Lavatmat 52810 Machine works fine on the slow wash cycle and normal rinse and spin cycles. Problem occurs about 1/2 way during the wash cycle, when the drum turns quite fast. At this point the machine sort of has a 'heart attack'. It jolts a bit and makes a loud squeeking noise - sort of like the squeals of brakes in a car when suddenly push foot hard down on the brakes when driving fast (If this makes sense). Then stops that spin. If left alone, it continues with the cycle. Until the next fast spin during the wash cycle. All other cycles work normally. No noise from the mchine. No movement of the machine. The Spin cycle, even on 1200 works with …

When softener should be taken away (means BOTH valves should be open) , water is coming in only on prewash compartment !!! . Topper (the plastic way with holes for spraying water replaced so is new !!) Question : I am wondering who can answer why water is not sprayed in the softener compartment

Hello every one I am new to your forum, Could some one help with any service info for my Wilkins Servis model S mk15, I purchased the machine a few months ago for my mother to use, it was the first electric powerd washer she had. I have completed about 80% of the work needed to get the machine back to showroom standard, I have repainted it in the red and white limited edition colours, it is still in bits but looks very good, I am having problems trying to find a replacement lid for the tub that keeps the water hot while the machine is washing, so if any one has got photos of the lid veiwed from above and below the lid I will fabricate a new one if I can no…

I’ve searched the help topics & further online, but I haven’t found a similar concern. At the end of a wash cycle I found a small piece of metal, roughly 1 inch x 1/4 inch in size, and about 1/8 inch thick. It’s quite heavy for its size and shows slight signs of rust at edges. Its not recognisable as a piece of clothing, to me it most resembles a magnet for a door catch but that is a guess. I cannot think how it would have been introduced externally by us. However, we have only lived here 6 months and the machine is 9 years old so it’s possible a previous tenant washed it accidentally and it’s only just resurfaced. My concern is could something have fallen o…

I am just replacing the heating element in our Bosch Classics washing machine WVF2042GB02. However I had to snip off the red thermostat wire before removing the heating element (attached picture shows wire in situ before snipping). I'm now not sure how to re-attach except by soldering it. The flat post the wire is wrapped round seems redundant as it's not connected to anything. All other thermostats for Bosch appear to have two wires and a plastic connector. Anyone encountered this and solved the problem?

all flashing lights on the front so I took off the small pump attached to the floor of the machine and the impellor is spinning freely and when I put water in the machine it seems to pump out ok.I removed the sump of the machine and took out £8 in change... (£2 coin and 5 £1 coins a couple screws and a kirby grip and some rust particles, washed all this out and replaced everything. The machine starts a programme ,ie fills with water and moves on ,the drum rotates but then the flashing lights come on again, there was a small hole in part of the sump assembly but it was the internal part which fits into the bottom of the drum just below the heating element. …
