Hi, Well posted a couple of times before and have always got out of jail so to speak but now I fear sadly for the worst. Washing machine starts ok on E cycle - colours@ 40 and ingests liquid no problem, mixes up liquid to get lather no problem and works for about 10 mins maybe 15 and then stops. TBH I am not sure/can't remember what the next cycle would be (ingest more hot or rinse) but all I get is that electrical hum of death which would stay like that for ever unless I move the dial round click by click until the machine finally responds to the spin cycle. Any ideas would be extremely welcome, as the old girl was working perfectly yesterday and has served me extreme…

Hi, newbie here..... Was washing some towels tonight in my 11 year old washing machine, and near the end of the spin cycle the machine made some grinding noises, then the drum stopped spinning. After reading these forums I tried to troubleshoot a little bit -first putting a soggy towel (just one) in the drum and started the spin cycle. But again, the drum didn't move. After switching it off, I checked the drum movement by hand, and it does rotate but there is a slight resistance compared to when i have spun it round previously to check for the odd sock for instance. I could have put too much in the drum to start with, or else something has worn down. Any suggestions would…

Hi All, Please please can someone help me save my washing machine before my better half gets her way and makes a bee line for the washing machine shop with my wallet in hand!!!! We have a superb Miele washing machine which has given us faultless service over the last 9 years or so. In the last 9 months its developed a nasty smell, we always leave the main load and powder draw open, we have always followed the recommendation of a hot wash every couple of months and can't understand where we have gone wrong. I assume the smell is due to bacteria build up, I have tried the maintenance deep clean products from the supermarkets, it seems to work for a short time but the sm…

Hi all, My 2.5 year old daughter shoved a small plastic spoon into the hole in the drawer where detergent flows down. It worked its way down the rubber pipe and is now rattling around in the drum. The machine seems to work OK but makes a heck of a noise on spin. I've checked some vids about how to get into the drum but clearly its a job for a pro. Is there anything I could do to get this object out easily without having to call an engineer? If not, is this relatively safe if I have to live with it? Many thanks for any help given, Marc

Hi, I have a Hoover OPH 716 DF- Problem, when we turn the programme selector the digital display jumps all over the place, it settles on the programme above or below the one we want, desperation makes us tap the area around the selector where eventually it settles on the chosen programme, is this a new display? (Quoted £100-ish) or is there an easy fix for this? Best Regards.

Hi all I have a problem with the above mentioned washer On power up (selecting a program) the door security LED remains statically lit - it should ordinarily flash until the start button is pressed - whereupon the interlock activates and the machine starts filling etc... I thought it could be the interlock - so I replaced that - but no change. On occasion in the past if you rotated the program dial - the door security LED would flash and it would start the program. Of late though nothing seems to get it to start. When it did start - it ran through the program fine with no errors. The different programs still display their relevant spin / temperature LEDs when selec…

This is part 2 in the saga of the Beko WM74155LS which we had delivered on Friday. So we got it all connected, retaining bolts removed and put a half load in. Dial turned to quick wash, temperature and spin type selected and pushed the start/pause button... and pushed the start/pause button... and pushed the start/pause button... and turned the dial to another setting, pushed the start/pause button... turned the childlock on then off again and pressed the start/pause button... So I'm sure you get the idea that no matter what we do, the machine just will not start. As yesterday was a bank holiday in the UK, I rang Beko today. After going through all the usual pre-problem…

Hello, Does anyone have any knowledge as to what error code E80 refers to on the above model washing machine? It is not listed in the booklet I have; prior to this being displayed the washing machine had, on a couple of occasions, failed to spin correctly with the items still be soaked at the end of the cycle, but it had then gone on to be fine again for a few months. Thanks

Hi all, I've looked through your site for various topics about replacing the bearings in my WML520P(UK)R. The bearings are currently only very slightly noisey and I'm mechanically fairly capable. The great spares site associated with this forum lists drums complete but not bearings, elsewhere it refers to changing bearings and spider for wm* machines excluding the WMA models. I would like to change bearings only, will be a case of removing spider and inspecting/measuring the surface the bearing runs on. Are there bearing kits (with or without spider) for this model? All advice greatfully received. Kbs

Hi I have been having some trouble with my above mentioned washing machine. I bought this new 2 1/2 years ago with no problems until now. I had a wash on while I was out and came back to find the lights flashing rapidly on the machine and the machine hadn't finished the wash and still had some water in. I tried to put on a drain cycle but this failed and the lights flashed again. After painstakingly slowly emptying my drenched clothes and all the water (with a jug!) i took the front of the machine off to check the pump - no problems noticed there. I have also looked at the back of the machine and notice no kinks in tubing or anything (the machine hasn't been moved since…

Our Hoover washer-dryer model 856DG-80 has a serious fault. It has been making a lot of noise, jumping across the room recently. I also noticed that the drum bangs when moved, and I could here some jangling sounds. So, I had a look underneath the machine, and found that the large concrete block has broken in two, plus the attachment to the drum has broken. The photo shows the concrete block, plus all the fixings which were rattling about in the machine (bolts, washers and some plastic). My question is this: is it a write-off, or is this worth paying the £116 to Hoover to come out and fix (and pay for more parts)? Given that the plastic which broke off appears to be off …

Hi to all. Last Sunday the washing machine stopped & the following error appeared. Aqua Stop. So out with the torx drivers & took the top & back off. The bottom of the machine had filled with water. Fault traced to a hose popped off the drum. Replaced this and dried the bottom of machine. Switched on again a few hours later, and now on a wash cycle or spin the drum only rotates about a quarter turn this is accompanied with a loud high pitched squeal only it's not a squeal. Pulled the motor out & checked brushes, all good. Checked all terminals for resistance good except no reading for the speed sensor. Assumed this was the problem so purchased a reco…

I have a de error on my washing machine so I replaced the locking mechanism but the de error continues. What would be the cause of this. Would replacing the pcb board be the only other cause to this issue. The machine is a samsung J1045 7kg front loader. Any advice would be real helpful. Thanks.

Hi all I replaced my Washing Machine motor the other day after my wife had commented that it was very hard to turn the drum by hand after a wash. For a few months now the motor had been making alot of noise on full spin and i knew the bearings were on their way out, When i removed the motor it is very hard to move the shaft. When i had replaced the motor and put everything together, the Door lock Light is flashing and locks straight away. I am able to select a wash program, when I click start nothing happens Just a flashing door lock and 5 Bleeps. As soon as the mains is connected the door locks and will not unlock until mains is unplugged. I fitted a New Door lock N…

Hi, I have a hoover VHD8142-80, it was stoping towards the end of the wash with flashing led lights indicating heater element. This was not replaced and ignored about a year now. The machine now does not run after triggering off electric circuit breaker, once breaker turned on the machine was still on the cycle with nothing happening except when dial set to off door would open eventually. It was left to finish the cycle which took approx 24 hrs, but now when attempting to start, it sets a wash cycle with door locking but the door security light keeps flashing and the wash never begins, no drain pump sound, no motor spinning, just nothing apart form door locking. I de…

Hi there,I was wondering if anyone can help me diagnose a problem that I'm having with my Hotpiont WDL540 washer/dryer, it is instantly tripping the rcd as soon as the door is closed. By then pulling the green plastic strap under the machine to open the door again and resetting the rcd, the machine comes on fine, but as soon as is closed, it instantly trips again. Is the door switch the faulty part? Many thanks in advance, Suben

I have a Creda w220vw washing machine. When I start a programme (any one on the dial) it will run for a few seconds and then all lights go out and stops. If I turn the dial to off and back to the programme about 20 times it may eventually keep running and finish the programme. In between restarting the programme I have to wait about 10 seconds before turning the dial back to the programme again else the lights do not come back on. The door locks ok and the door lock light comes on. It takes in water ok and drains ok if it manages to get to that part of the programme. It turns ok and spins fine when it keeps running. I have pulled the machine out and emptied the drain fi…

I bought a Miele W5740 in December 2011 from an approved Miele centre. At that time the machine qualified for a free 10 year parts and labour warranty which I duly registered. 2 Days ago as I went to remove clean clothes at the end of the cycle, a small section of the rubber door seal came away. Its probably only 1 or 1.5cm long, from the front outer section that goes up against the glass window. I have attached a photo showing the section that has broken and the whole it left behind in case that is useful. I rang Miele expecting this to be covered by their 10 year warranty but they said it is a maintenance issue not a mechanical issue and therefore I have to pay for…

I have a video to demonstrate. Easier than trying to describe the problem, but in my very limited knowledge of washing machines, to me it sounds like a relay clicking? I can't tell! It goes in to the main cycle and washes my clothes, but the clicking means it takes long to pull water in to the machine! Anyone familiar with his? I'm trying to work out if getting a new one vs getting this fixed.

Our ISE10 has not been heating for at least a year now. While I've enjoyed the cheap washing and the results have often been excellent there are a few occasions where 60C is needed. With the mess around ISE warranty I suspect I have to fix it myself. Does anyone have any tips on fixing a non-heating ise10? thanks

In 99% of the cases I am trying to use the washing machine, it starts pumping in water, makes a couple spins and then the red LED (PC Control) starts blinking and the machine is just dead silent doing nothing. I have checked all filters and nothing is clogged, everything seems just fine. I did open up the top lid of the machine and cleaned all three hoses that was connected to that electrical thing. After that the machine did actually work for about 2-3 washes, but now the same problem is back again.

Well, even though it is working just fine, we have decided to ditch the WM62 and give it to my youngest son and buy a new machine. I am stuck at making any decision. A lady I know told my daughter "i swear by indesit, had mine 5 years now". That can obviously speak for itself, 5 years is well out of date and anything could have happened to indesit by now. I remember the old zanussi days, very good machine but have no idea what they are like now. Money no object, just want a long uninterrupted service time. Any ideas PLEASE

Hello all, A new member from Essex here. Sorry to ask for help straight away. I've an Indesit Washing Machine model WIDXL146 whose drum refused to turn recently. Took out the motor and found the brushes were badly worn. The armature seems OK. Regarding the brushes, can anyone please help to identify the correct part number? My motor has C.E.SET label on it. Based on this information, I found a part C00194594 online. I found some good prices too but can't find my model mentioned anywhere for this part. There are 100s of models mentioned including WIDL146UK, Is this same as my model: WIDXL146? Your help would be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
