Hi I'm having trouble diagnosing the fault with this machine. At the start of a wash cycle it will give a split second burst of water and then stop showing E04. I blew down the pressure pipe to check for blockages. Checked for resistance across both inlet valves - both show equal resistance. The pressure switch is mechanical type with 4 terminals but only 3 are used with 1 red wire and 2 blue wires. With the pressure switch disconnected there is no continuity between any of the terminals on the pressure switch. When I blow into the pressure switch to hear the click the 2 blue terminals connect. When I blow slightly harder pas…

I thought it was the brushes, but on my model the brushes are integral with the motor and I was told if it was the motor then it wouldn't be spinning properly at all! Well it dose spin but with only a few items at a time if I leave it, it just keeps refilling and emptying and sloshing around for hours!!!! Is there some kind of sensor in the machine that may have gone? Any help would be fab as I don't have the money to buy a new machine at the moment!

I have an AEG washing machine Lavamat 6955. It is 22 years old had quite heavy use throughout its life and apart from replacing the carbon brushes twice, it has been 100% reliable. However, after the last replacement brushes were fitted about 2 weeks ago the machine has made a strange smell. This is impossible to describe so I will say what it is not. It is not a bad smell like anything rotting. It does not come from the drum or the detergent drawer. I have tried a very hot wash and that made no difference. The motor is too hot to touch after a wash but I understand that is normal. The smell is not burning (rubber or plastic) it appears to come from the motor area or can …

Lots of banging during the spin cycle of my LG F1281TD (about 6 years old) resulted in me taking the machine apart to find the reason. I discovered that a cement weight block attached to the front of the drum was being held in place by just one retaining bolt. There were three more that had fallen out at the bottom of the machine. I replaced them and tightened them up pretty well although the thread seemed to have gone on one. Once the machine was back together I put it on a spin, it started off well but then I heard what I assumed to be the loose bolt fall out. I haven't taken it apart again yet but at the end of the spin it was banging again and by ro…

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help with a John Lewis washing machine JLBIWM1403 that is not draining. I have looked at common faults/troubleshooting etc and am unable to proceed with checking the drain filter. Upon removing the cap I find what appears to be some sort of inner cap - image posted here. I can't find anything similar online and have tried unsuccessfully to prise it out. Is this normal? Do I need a special tool? It's clearly not what is described in the manual: Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Nick

Hi, I've tried the troubleshooting guides for common problems, but haven't been able to work out the answer to this. I'm hoping someone here can help. I recently completed a wash in my Samsung Eco Bubble washer only to find both the seal around the door and the clothes themselves covered in small pieces of grey rubber residue. Further examination showed that the rubber door seal had started to disintegrate near the metal rim of the inner drum, about half way up from the bottom of the drum, I'm guessing that maybe something got stuck between drum and seal and friction then caused the seal to wear away. Now I know very little…

My bosch series 2 washer trips after about 15 seconds of filling with water but when I run a spin cycle to empty the water it works fine. (I had a problem with it not pumping out the water but that was because of some plastic stuck in one of the pipes). I am thinking heating element?

I have a Miele WT 2670 Washer dryer. When i select the Cottons program, i get an error message "F41 please contact the service department", along with a beeping noise. I have not had the machine long, but it seems so far, to load all the other problems ok. Any ideas what could be the problem? Thanks very much.

Hi everyone, my Miele W1712 recently always show up F53 fault, and the motor run faster than it should be. When in washing cycle, the drum should run in very slow speed, however it sometimes run in fast, which makes the machine shakes horrible. I searched on internet, which said F53 fault is the speed sensor. But I also read many people fixed the F53 fault by changing the motor carbon brushes. I am totally confused, how come carbon brushes issue is deal with the speed sensor problem. If the brushes is failed, motor should not run at all, why run faster? Can anyone give me some idea? Thanks a lot.

Well, finally managed to get the dryer part working again - though possibly helped by the fact I still have a couple of years of a 10-year warranty to go. (I've posted the history leading up to getting this repair elsewhere in this forum - First of all, I have to say that the Miele warranty repair admin seemed OK - in other words when I phoned them I got through pretty quickly, they found my warranty details and then made an appointment about 10 days away, then did text me the day before as a reminder. So, that part works. The phone was answered by a nice enough young kid - but he was clearly trained in how to push blame for any washer-dryer failure prompt…

Hi all! I'd be grateful for your help... A couple of weeks ago, I was using my Indesit WIXE127 (UK) (TEV) which I've had for perhaps 9 years from new without any issues. Just as the wash was finishing its final spin, it began making a loud, rapid knocking sound and what appeared to be smoke came from the machine! Believing the machine to be knackered, I waited for the smoke to clear and had a poke around. I started by unscrewing and removing the back; there was nothing obvious. Nothing appeared to have caught fire. What I did find however was the plastic part lying loose on the base of the machine. As I looked through the door, I could see that the sea…

I have a Hotpoint Model WMA9 - Serial Number 07101058 (an older machine given to me). Just lately it has been a bit of a noise and when turning the drum by hand it's making a bit of a grinding noise. I know the bearings on the drum are going and made enquiries today at Hotpoint as to what bearings I need. The reply I got over the phone was that it could either be 30 OR 35mm bearings and would need to take them off to check, and would I want an engineer to come out? No thank you was the reply! So they genuinely can't tell me or won't unless I buy from them? Does anyone know which size my machine would need - many thanks.

I have a year old beko washing machine (WTB820E1W). It runs the cycle normally and spins at the end but the clothes come out wetter than they should. If I then do an extra spin and drain cycle the clothes come out as they should. Why is this happening? I've checked the filter, hoses and even cleared the drain pump but still no change. Please help! Very frustrating!

Our 2015 WM3370HWA front-load washer has developed a slow leak. We first noticed it the day after doing laundry when my wife saw that some water had pooled in the cracks in the tile floor in front of the machine. I cleaned it up and slowly over the next 15 minutes it reappeared. Checked the rear of the washer and saw some water on the floor back there also, but not as much as front. Checked all hoses/drain and no sign of leakage. No water at all on rear panel of washer. Cleaned up all water and ran a few empty load cycles. Leak did not reappear and I hoped it was gone, but later that night it reappeared. Turned off both water feeds overnight then opened the ho…

Hi, I have a Bosch Classix 1400 washing machine WFO2867Gb/01 that does not heat the water. There are no error codes and the wash goes through in normal time. This problem only occurred after I changed the bearings on the machine. Therefore I suspect it is something I did not connect correctly or caused some damage while working on the drum. I have checked the element and the NTC and both are working as expected, I have proved continuity of the NTC wiring back to the PCB and also the element wiring back to the PCB and pressure switch. The pressure switch appears to be working OK - 2 different connections are made depending on the pressure applied. What else is involved i…

Hi guys. My indesit washing machine has developed some strange noises etc... Firstly a big bang on saturday. When load had stopped (after making lots of noises) the washing was black and there was bits of what looks like shredded synthetic (like plastic) inside the drum. I have just spun it now and although working the drum sounds like it has friction, and catching when going around. Any ideas? Had back off and belt fine, had top off and cant see any foreign objects. Thanks in advance

Just used my Zanussi washer/dryer and there was a light, metallic, rattling/clattering noise as the wash/rinse cycle ended and it started to spin. I stopped the machine and when it was empty I pushed the drum lightly and it moved freely although still rattled. Switched it on briefly to spin whilst empty and it works OK but the rattling persists. My first thought was 'bearings' but I know I forgot to empty the pockets of a pair of trousers because the load I removed when the problem became apparent was covered in shredded paper. Is there a possibility of the noise being caused by a coin/coins or by some other metallic object which may have been in the pocket(I'm missing a …

I am the at the moment the not so proud owner of a Siemens WM16S460FG/14 washing machine, purchased in Belgium 3 years ago, right before moving to India for my job. Reasoning at the time was that Siemens has an international repair service and is established there too. Nothing can happen, right?.....WRONG! 3 weeks ago my machine failed with errors F:61 and F:34, the door had to be opened using the emergency procedure. I called BSH India, who do the repairs. Well, the model is not available in India and they had absolutely no clue what the error messages mean. I called up Belgium, they told me both messages were related to the door lock safety. Ordering a replacemen…

Hello, I've got a huge problem with my washer dryer. Here's what's happening: several months ago i noticed that at the end of a wash cycle time was running slowly - now i know it was due to slow draining. Eventually the f05 error came up once every few weeks, but now it's on every time and i can't finish any wash cycle. It gets on between 'wash' and 'rinse' so it's during the first drain. I have checked the filter and the pump (with the ball in), both perfectly clean. I have blown into the outlet hose and it's fine too. I have replaced the motor of the pump with a new one and it's still the same. I can always hear the pump working but the water is not being removed from…

Hi there The door handle on my LG F1403 broke last night, leaving me with a full load of washing now stuck in the machine! The plastic handle must have perished in some way because the parts of the handle that actually open the door split. I'm not sure if there is a piece of door handle stuck in the mechanism or not, I've tried to get what's there out with my hands but it's quite sharp so kept making my fingers bleed. I can get the part easily enough for £7 or something-great! But what I need to know is how do I fit it once the part has arrived? It says 'Easy' to fit on the parts website but will I need to be able to get the door open in the first place to be able to f…
