Hi, I have a Bosch WFR3268GB thats suddenly started to "yellow" the soap dispener front facia and the main front facia itself. I first noticed this two weeks ago when a boil wash was finished a slight yellowing of the draw assy. I pulled the drawer out of the housing and noticed that the plastic has in fact melted. During the last two weeks of use, the melting is getting worse and as such has damaged the main front facia. I would normally just replace these items, however I've just seen how expensive they are, and the main facia doesn't appear to be available anymore, ie i don't want to replace these for the same thing to happen again. At this time, I'm suspecting the …

Hi there, Reaching out to the forums as I've put alot of work into fixing my washine machine but it is still not working. I don't want to be beaten yet so perhaps someone can help? This machine was new in May 2011. Last year the door lock burnt out the connecting cables so I replaced the lock and cables sucessfully. Eariler this year it started not draining and flashing all lights. It turned out to be a very blocked sink u-bend and after a good clean things were good again. (lesson learned about keeping that clean! However in the last month or so it keeps stopping at the first drain (between the wash and rinse). All lights flashing and the drain light on. I've tried…

Hi, just a quick query or rather confirmation I think. I have had this trusty machine now for almost 16 years and whilst it has broken down now and again, it has always been worth fixing. Put a load on today and it just stop mid cycle. After clicking the rotary control on manually one click at a time, it does nothing. So clicked it all the way to finish. Took clothes out. Started new cycle withing nothing in and just clicks all the time trying to find something, rotary control does not move at all. Took lid off and listened to where the clicking was coming from and it appears to be around the printed circuit board/back of the on/off switch. I am guessing that the circuit…

Hello sorry if this is a question asked many times - I have an Indesit Moon whose only problem are sticky buttons, in particular the one indicates with "A" in the image. Now, this recirs even if I am careful not to drop liquids etc - so I was wondering if it was possible to easilytake out the push bottens, give the inside housing a godd cleaning, and then put it back. Can I just wedge them out, or doing so will break a plastic part etc? Thanks FDG, Sheffield

The water supply is no doubt very much to blame .Even though cleaned the filter at the inlet the gunge has got across , causing the lights to flash and the cycle to abort before the main wash. I got around this by manually filling the detergent compartment with a litre or so of water from the tap but the problem has got worse to the point that I am not sure if I can nurse it any more. I took out the soap drawer for a closer inspection and saw the gunge (like something out of Alien) seeping from the series of holes above the detergent. Can I take my machine apart and clean all this gunge from the inside or is that going to be a thankless and pointless task? Is…

Please advise: There's a horrible noise. It only occurs pre spin when the pump is draining water, I have checked for blockages in the drain pipe and also emptied the lint tray.

Hello I bought this LG washing machine a couple of months ago & the 1st few washes went very well & cleaned my clothes very nicely. However, after about the 5th or 6th wash, I got an OE error code, so generically saying the pump is blocked. I went into the manual to try & clean out the pump filter & manually remove the water that hadn't drained. I did this but when I tried to put the emergency drain hose back in, it fell through a hole into the back of the machine & I couldn't get it back. I had to take off the whole of the front cover & retrieved the hose & fixed it back in its original state, hoping that was enough for me to continue suc…

I bought an Indesit washer from Curry's, the IWC71452 which is on special at £179 at the mo. It was used twice and then stopped working. I went through the trouble shoot guide but nothing. Eventually got an engineer out and it turned out to be a rubber washer in the filter which was flat on one side, ridged on the other and not a full circle, it was manufactured with a break in it. The fitter wondered if it came out of the clothes washed but i know this is impossible and I suspect it was either part of the washer or filter. Can anyone suggest what it was? its around 40mm in diameter, soft rubber and similar to what you would get in a waste compression joint.

Hi, Our washer dryer had stopped mid-cycle (looks like just before the stage where the softner is added). There are no fault LEDS and I can't seem to get it to work again. I tried putting the machine onto drain to empty it, but even though the lights change when the start/stop button is pressed, nothing starts. I've tried all programs. I have manually drained the machine via the outlet at the bottom right, where I found a very small key and coin, but it looks like that was there for a while as there is a rust stain on the platsic. Still can't get the machine to start anything and the door doesn't lock when the program is supposed to start. When I do press the start/sto…

Especially loud on a light load, sounds like the drum or something is hitting the casing....usually refuses to spin on light load. Could this be the shock absorbers? I tried to remove what looked to be the worst of the two as moving the drum showed a lot of up and down movement on it....I could only free the bottom securing pin but once I did I could easily slide the inner metal tube up and down within the plastic outer housing tube, I'm guessing this isn't normal and that some resistance should be there to act as a damper? Top weight is secure and from what I can see/feel so is front weight, both drum holder springs are attached and in good order. No grinding whe tur…

Hi All, I have a Hotpoint washing machine WMUD 962 I've had it for about 5 years without any issues until yesterday. It now makes a loud knocking noise during spin cycle (800 rpm and 1600), almost deafening in fact. It fills with water and goes through a washing cycle but the clothes don't wash properly - e.g. I can see brownish spots on my light coloured shirts. From the research I have done it sounds like it might be the bearing in which case I would have to replace the sealed drum for £140 plus (aint gonna happen I can buy a new one for that). However, I would like some input from you guys who will know a lot more than me. A few more points, I remov…

Hi. So iv got an Electrolux 148420w washing machine. Its been a solid worker but suddenly I had issues. Filled it with a small load of clothes but I notised an clank from time to time. It lessened on higer speed and centrifuge, but was worse at low speed. When the drum is empty I can spin it no problem and no sound. Checked the bearing behind, no leaks. One thing I tried was to move the drum sideways to see if the bearing was gone. But it was solid. BUT after i tried pushing it up,down, left, right suddenly it gave a little and the klank sound came... So if i slowly spin the drum and press down on the edge suddenly a klank(hollow as bent metal), and then I ca…

Our washing machine stopped heating the water and heating the dry cycle. It does all the cycles, wash and dry but there's no heat at all. I've bought new heater and thermometer, checked all the wires but still no heat. There is also no error code. I've read the topic where the solution was loose cables, so triple checked that also. What can it be?

Hi I'm hoping someone here can help me with my washing machine problems. I think I've put this in the wrong area but DIY repairs was greyed out. Just doing a normal wash and the RCD gets tripped and half of the house's power goes off. There was a bang from the washing machine. After emptying it and running it, inside the drum compartment there is a blue flash and RCD is tripped. After switching the power on again, a flame is seen across the back of the drum compartment. After research I removed the heating element which was covered with calcium carbonate and proceeded to clean it with heated vinegar and water. Eventually the calcium carbonate came off but …

Hello, I’m looking for some advice regarding a 10 year old Miele w524 which has a flashing drain light, I have been through all the posts on here and tried all the things mentioned, the machine has been taken apart by hubby and all pipes and hoses and the white box at the back cleared of a lot of gunk everything is now clear , taken off pump, all clear, still have flashing drain light at the rinse cycle , it worked on the wool cycle but this morning on a easy iron cycle same problem , it’s possible it works only with a light load , we also live in a very hard water area, I have it draining into sink now and the pump does work , so my question is really what next could it…

Hi.. my first post My Beko washing machine has developed a fault, when I put it on a cotton wash it fills with water to nearly half a drum then does nothing for a minute or so then it will pump out a small amount of water then it will do the same again over and over. When I put it on a rinse spin and drain cycle it does the same. When I end the programme the machine pumps out all the water no problem. I changed the carbon brushes on the motor but still no luck so I pulled the pcb out to check for any burnt out components, there were a number of areas showing signs of being burnt but cannot tell which part actually burnt out if at all. Please see the attached phot…

Hello I have a Beko wm74135w that recently would not enter its final spin. It would spin fine up until the final spin though. I checked the brushes and one was worn completely down. The other maybe only 30% worn. I had only changed them about a year ago so. I ordered some new brushes but they were for a different Beko model. They are angled the correct way though so I put the new brushes in to the original brush casing and fitted them. All was fine and it was fast spinning except it seemed to spin faster than usual (can't confirm is this true or not since I am not the one that usually uses the machine). Next it started smoking from the back (I presume motor) So I swi…

Hi I'm having trouble diagnosing the fault with this machine. At the start of a wash cycle it will give a split second burst of water and then stop showing E04. I blew down the pressure pipe to check for blockages. Checked for resistance across both inlet valves - both show equal resistance. The pressure switch is mechanical type with 4 terminals but only 3 are used with 1 red wire and 2 blue wires. With the pressure switch disconnected there is no continuity between any of the terminals on the pressure switch. When I blow into the pressure switch to hear the click the 2 blue terminals connect. When I blow slightly harder pas…

I thought it was the brushes, but on my model the brushes are integral with the motor and I was told if it was the motor then it wouldn't be spinning properly at all! Well it dose spin but with only a few items at a time if I leave it, it just keeps refilling and emptying and sloshing around for hours!!!! Is there some kind of sensor in the machine that may have gone? Any help would be fab as I don't have the money to buy a new machine at the moment!

I have an AEG washing machine Lavamat 6955. It is 22 years old had quite heavy use throughout its life and apart from replacing the carbon brushes twice, it has been 100% reliable. However, after the last replacement brushes were fitted about 2 weeks ago the machine has made a strange smell. This is impossible to describe so I will say what it is not. It is not a bad smell like anything rotting. It does not come from the drum or the detergent drawer. I have tried a very hot wash and that made no difference. The motor is too hot to touch after a wash but I understand that is normal. The smell is not burning (rubber or plastic) it appears to come from the motor area or can …

Lots of banging during the spin cycle of my LG F1281TD (about 6 years old) resulted in me taking the machine apart to find the reason. I discovered that a cement weight block attached to the front of the drum was being held in place by just one retaining bolt. There were three more that had fallen out at the bottom of the machine. I replaced them and tightened them up pretty well although the thread seemed to have gone on one. Once the machine was back together I put it on a spin, it started off well but then I heard what I assumed to be the loose bolt fall out. I haven't taken it apart again yet but at the end of the spin it was banging again and by ro…
