I have a Hotpoint WML540 Aquarius m/c. During the spin a violent banging is heard throughout the cold water supply pipes, seemingly occurring near the ball valve in the cold water tank. As far as I understand the only connection between the m/c and the supply pipes is via the cold water inlet valve in the m/c. Can anyone provide an explanation. I've thought about a "water hammer" effect but cannot understand how this can happen during the spin cycle when presumably the valve should be closed. Thanks in anticipation' John W Thomas

I replaced the door interlock with no change in display . Then found some coins in the pump filter and this seemed to cure problem. Worked for 3 cycles and now "door" is on display again and although door locks/unlocks when switched on/off the cycle will not start. Pump filter is clear.Any ideas?

hi, we have a Samsung P1253S At the back of the filter Compartment at the bottom is some kind of paddle thing. it sits on the end of a spindle and my guess is that is mashes cruft around so as not to block the drainage. the paddle has come off the spindle and makes a horrendous clanking noise as it occasionally catches. Ive removed and the washes operates fine (On a spin) for now. Some questions if I may..... what are the consequences of this thing missing from the washer? is it repairable? Or replaceable? is it part of a field replacement kit for a larger component maybe? any insight, …

Hello, I have a two or three year old Indesit IWB 5123 which suddenly developed this fault. During one of the washings once it entered the spinning cycle the drum started to make a loud banging noise and it stayed like that since then. There is a lot of sideways movement to the point that the drum can hit something behind it. In this thread one user suggested that a bolt somewhere near the rear weight block may have loosened. Is this what you think it is? Here are couple of videos: * starting the spinning cycle * front to back movement Thanks!

Hi all Ive been scouring the internet looking for some information on the suspected fault my washer/dryer has. Its an Indesit IWDC6125. Below is a link to a video of the washer, performing the issue (at least I suspect it is an issue!) Washer Dryer Video If you ignore the normal noise, such as the pump and motor etc, listen out for (every 10 seconds or so), a jet of water being blasted into the detergent drawer. The machine does this, continuously whilst on drying mode. It currently performs all other functions without issue and even dries clothes with no problem too, even with this weird waster jet noise every few seconds. Any idea what it could be? Most importantly…

I have tried test mode. No drum rotation in that sequence. Belt is intact. Is this a carbon brush problem in the motor?

My friend's 18 year old hoover played up the other day - it wouldn't drain or spin. Drain Hose wasn't blocked, filter looked fine and the upstand to the drain wasn't blocked either. It seemed that when the programme timer went to "Spin" it would completely cut out, and let you open the door with a drum full of water! Engineer diagnosed it as the programme dial, and as the machine was so old repair wasn't possible. Eventually (as she's not got much money) she settled on a budget Servis from the local Co-Op store. Plumbed it in, switched it on. Did full wash programme. Then wouldn't drain or spin. A friend of mine thinks she's picked up the lemon in the batch. Any more…

I've read the error codes article in the troubleshooting section, which I believe is the most relevant article to this problem, but I couldn't get the answer of the particular error I think I'm facing: Hello, I have an Indesit WIXL 143 S. The washer seems to be displaying a fault, the door lock LED is flashing as are the first two function buttons (reading from the left on the row of function buttons). If it helps the two function buttons are Delay Timer and Stain Removal (have attached an image here which shows them illuminated, they are flashing in reality just caught them when they were all on). All three LEDs are constantly flashing. I've tri…

Hello. We moved into our house about 18 months ago we got a Bosch Classix for £50 this worked ok apart having to having to have a knack for shutting the door in order for it to start due to the catch mechanism being loose. It would occasionally not drain and freeze mid cycle with the washing in it. Eventually we'd be able to get it started again but it kept happening and got worse. Eventually due to the door problem also being problematic we got rid of it and got one for free that was nearly new from Gumtree. This one was a problem from the beginning and wouldn't drain and the cycle would also freeze. As it was a similar problem I thought it might be something to do wi…

Hi, I have a Bosch Classixx washing machine and need to replace the drain pump approx once a year. It's always the same problem: The impeller comes of the drain pump. I tried pushing it back on but usually only lasts a couple of washes. Is this normal? Is there a proper way to get the impeller back on the pump? Nothing seems broken. The drain pump is not blocked when this happens. No debris. Suggestions are very welcome. Thanks, Peter

The water supply is no doubt very much to blame .Even though cleaned the filter at the inlet the gunge has got across , causing the lights to flash and the cycle to abort before the main wash. I got around this by manually filling the detergent compartment with a litre or so of water from the tap but the problem has got worse to the point that I am not sure if I can nurse it any more. I took out the soap drawer for a closer inspection and saw the gunge (like something out of Alien) seeping from the series of holes above the detergent. Can I take my machine apart and clean all this gunge from the inside or is that going to be a thankless and pointless task? Is…

The problem with the above washing machine is when you switch it on it does not start to wash . The red / yellow door light flickers 6 or 7 times which indicates some problem My question what is the problem and can it be fixed or is it time to dump the machine and it has not done to much washing either and it should not pack up like this I guess

Can anyone tell me how to access the PCB on a Beko WMA 510W machine? The fault is :- It started being unreliable at spinning on the main cycle, then it was unreliable at spinning on the rinse and drain cycle. Now it just takes in water, rotates for about 5 minutes, then stops, leaving me with dirty, soap slimed soaking washing! I think I need to change the PCB, but can't see how to access it.

Hi, I have a Siemens IQ300 and took out the filter to clean it. I needed to use grips because it was stuck with scale. I can see that the bit that the filter screws into is cracked in two places. It looks like a big washer but it wont come out. The machine now leaks underneath at the front. :-( Is it possible to buy the housing unit that the filter screws into or is it a whole new pump? I can see plenty of places to buy a new filter to screw in but I need the other part and not sure what it is called! Trying to work out if the cost will be worth calling someone out or if I should just buy a new machine. It is 5 years old and just out of the guarantee now a…

Hi I've a 2 and a half year old AEG12843VIT washer dryer which has now stopped working with the following symptons: No lights on control panel No responce from buttons on control panel LCD display as no digits The above occurs when the control dial is off or switched to a programme. If the control dial is switched to a programme, then off then back to a programme the LCD illuminates...but again no digits in it. The problem occured suddenly...went from working fine to no responce as above on next wash. Have tried turning off, leaving off (time varying between 20 minutes and 24 hours) and then trying again. Using this I got it to work again for a couple of washes...but n…

Hi! I recently bought a second hand Aeg 56200 washing machine which seems to wash and spin OK with clothes in, but struggles to spin anything heavy like towels. On a cotton cycle when the machine is distributing before the spin starts, the drum doesn't seem to rotate fast enough so that the towels stick to the sides of the drum. Instead, the towels just seem to roll around the drum and end up in a ball. The machine usually spends ages doing this, then just abandons spinning altogether. Occasionally the machine will just start spinning regardless, with the drum assembly hitting the cabinet. This happens even if there are only two towels in it. Whilst this happens during…

I've read the help files and listened to the spin noises, plus a few spin noise on other topics, doesn't quite sound like mine. The machine is 2 years and 9 months old. Here's a video of the noise. Quite simply - is this the bearing going/gone? https://photos.app.goo.gl/Q7D37LGgmmDvPm6v9 Thanks, Jason.

My AEG 64840L shows Error 40. Intensive Googling indicates door switch. I have changed the door switch and checked that the door signal is received at the PCB, an EWM2100. I found one broken wire to the main motor plug , red wire goes to pin 8, J7 on PCB. Re attached, still no go. Motor brushes are perfect. I changed the PCB. The drain pump works fine when the overflow float is raised. If I disconnect the door switch - E52 appears as a fault. I am unsure now what E40 refers to. Does anyone have the correct Error codes or have any advice?

Bought an AEG L7WBG741R washer/dryer just over a year ago, and it is not an exaggeration to say that 50% of the time it refuses to spin due to sensing an 'imbalanced load' (or so I assume, no indicator as such on the machine to tell you this). Have checked that the machine is level with a spirit level, it definitely is. Having had a Miele (like the machines, dislike the company) before, when I first got the AEG machine I cheerfully threw in one pair of jeans and pressed Start, assuming that - like the Miele - the AEG could cope with a low load. Nope, machine drum bounced all over the place and jeans came out sopping wet. However I find that even full loads only …

Hi, today my wife found two magnets in the drum of our washing machine. I am sure I never saw them in our house anywhere and there doesn't seem to be any damage in the drum nor any way for them to get inside.... They are circular magnets with a hole inside. Diameter 22mm, diameter of the hole 12mm, height 7mm Any idea where they might be from?

Following certain error messages I've bought a couple of spare parts for our AEG 74600: the water distributor and the solenoid water valve. However I am having a hard time figuring out how to join the two parts together (there's not enough room). When de-attaching the old parts I opened up the water distributor (hoping I could fix it), and this also made it easy to de-attach and rejoin it to the water valve, but I can't imagine I'm supposed to disassemble it prior to mounting and joining the two parts. I've also tried to see if I can remove the rear "wall" in order to get enough room but there's no obvious way to do this. Any ideas? A service manual would be nic…

Hi I have an AEG 78160 that is used by a number of my tenants. It is showing error code E20 when I switch it on. I cannot find any debris or kinks in the tube and the drain motor impeller spins freely. Is it likely to be the drain motor or the control board that has gone please? Is there a way to determine the problem? Can I hook the motor up to 240v and check that it spins and conclude that it is a control board problem if it does? thanks hairgoneJohn
