Discuss Bosch washing machines
- This forum is for anything to do with Bosch washing machines - BUT NOT repairs
- All repair questions need to be in the following forum - UK Washing Machine Repair Questions
- Most washing machine faults are not specific to a brand
- Most faults and fixes are the same for all washing machines
- So splitting faults up into brand categories is pointless

Hi, I've just joined and was amazed to see the following: Our Bosch Maxx (WFL 226L) is giving up the ghost, can't manage to complete the wash cycle, stops about three quarters of the way through, and then I have to switch dial round to spin or rinse to get a slightly dryer wash load (but not much). Have had a local engineer come and check it over, and it needs a new circuit board, which is likely to cost around £250. Bearing in mind the machine is just over 7 years old I feel it should be replaced. It cost £370 in 1999. My Bosch Maxx is 6 years old and has exactly the same problems. Thanks to reading your site I've saved myself the cost of getting my machine repaired. …

Howdy folks, great site!! Have been looking for a new machine for a while now (current one is on its last legs) I decided on either a Bosch, Zanussi or AEG. having extensively researched models and prices for all 3 makes, I have to say that I am not in the least bit impressed with the latest offerings from Bosch. The newest design from Bosch seems flimsy to say the least, many on display in the stores had issues with the door catch (which I see is now plastic) when closing the door you had to push really hard to get it to lock, but in doing so the front of the machine bevelled in. The soap dispenser drawers were either too loose or needed a really firm tug to get them o…

Hi, Hope you can help. I'm looking to buy a freestanding silver coloured washing machine costing around £300. I thought I'd made my decision today in Currys - they have a Bosch WAE2416SG for £329.95 which looks pretty good for my needs. I came home to compare the price online and have found what I thought was the same machine on several different sites for a cheaper price, but on closer inspection I've noticed slight differences in the model numbers. I've now found WAE2416S, WAE2416SG and WAE2416SGB. All seem similar, but are they the same? And if they're not does anyone know what the differences might be?! Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide. A…

After receiving fantastic reliability (20 years with no problems) the wife's “Zanussi” washing machine recently gave up the ghost and was replaced with a "BOSCH Exxcel 1400 express". We are still in the process of finding our way around the new white box and the wife has encountered a potential problem or short-coming. She occasionally “hand washes” a few special (usually wool) garments and would then use the W/M spinner. With the new box it does have a spin program but it seems to only spin at 400 rpm, which it pretty useless as the garments are almost as wet when you get them out as when you put them in. The machine does have a “Rinse & Spin” program where you ca…

Hi, I have just signed up to this site which looks amazing and has loads of interesting information. Right, i am moving in soon so need to buy a washing machine. My parents have always bought Bosch - never been let a down. I have seen the Bosch on offer, currently at currys - link: http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/bosch-waq243d0gb-varioperfect-washing-machine-white-17106813-pdt.html Please can i have any advice? Would be much appreciated. I spoke to a friend who mentioned that it had a spin of 1200 and i should look for one which has 1400. Not too sure tio be honest. It seems good, good reviews, 8kg capacity as well. Oh yea, whilst reading through the forums, i noted …

I've spent a fair amount of time looking around for a new machine. My current Bosch WFG2420 is a bit broken and may need replacing. One of the things which I'm seeing repeated is that the current sub-300 pound Bosch models are potentially lower quality than they used to be when they sold for more. The question is; what about machines which are being sold for less than 300 but have been reduced by 70+ quid? Should these be considered as (for example) £280 or £350 appliances? Or is that perhaps not a big enough price difference to be relevant? Cheers, Peter.

I have a Bosch Nexxt 700 series model WFMC6401UC and was wondering is there any faster way to wash than the quick wash??? The regular wash is 45 mins a load and the quick is 30. Sometimes I don't have 30 mins per load with 5 kiddos! Thanks for your help!

We have recently purchased a Bosch WAQ28462 Washing Machine and find the instructions supplied are totally inadequate. We have been able find some answers on the Internet. I am sure that we are not the only users who feel we have been sold a gimmicky machine without being told how to use it. Typical of our experience :- (i) the 1400 spin speed appears to be available on a very limited number of programs, but we have no indications which they are . (ii) We are still working to find programs which do not include a "pre-wash" . (iii) We have yet to find out how to do a spin cycle without a rinse. Peter

I have a Bosch WFB2004 washing machine and want to run a "cleaning" programme on it. The limescale-removing product I have bought should be put in the machine and run on a "hot" programme which does not include a pre-wash rinse. Unfortunately, as the machine is quite old, Bosch no longer offer a copy of the User Manual online. Can anyone tell me which of the following programmes I should run it on please? Thank you! Programmes available: S / P / A / B / C / D / F / h / K / L / N

Hi, My gf and I need a new washing machine as our Hoover has decided to take up smoking! We've more or less decided on a bosch, at around the £300 mark. There's a good deal on the Avantixx WAQ283S1GB at £349, which although is a little over our budget it has some good features like Eco Silent motor, Aqua Plus. We have an open plan kitchen/living room area and quietness would be appreciated and as an Avantixx model I gather it's not one of Bosch's entry level models. The only hesitation is about the drum - Is it sealed on this model? We've had a bra strap stuck in an old washing machine and i'd really like to be able to have a go at fixing it should this happen again…

Hi All We have just bought our first Bosch product, a washing machine. All previous washing machines we have had were Top Loaders by Fisher and Paykel. Our disappointment is centred around the hard crispy towels that we now get. The Top Loader used to provide us with nice fluffy towels for years. Two washes with the Bosch and the towels feel hard and crispy. We just use the cotton wash with no modified program. What are we doing wrong, we do not use fabric softener, our water is very soft so we know it is not that. The detergent we use is a liquid that comes as a measured amount in a dissolvable pouch. Pleas tell me your best advice to g…

Hello, There is a Bosch Maxx6, model nr WAA24171GB/12 in the apartment I am newly renting. I checked the manual online, unfortunately, the spin speeds are not indicated in it. Does anyone know how fast the various programs spin? And it seems there are sometimes several spin cycles? I am mainly interested in the "Delicates 30°", "Wool 30°" and "Wool Cold" programs, but if you have references for all then I'd happy to have them as well. I'd also be interested to know if it's ok to wash wool using the "Delicates 30" program - it seemed the delicates the program was more gentle than the wool program... Sorry for asking, I've only used machines where there was no s…

My washer shuts down at random times mid cycle including the display. If I turn off power and wait for about 1 min before I turn power back on, the machine runs and then stops after a while. I checked the door, it functions normally (locks and unlocks). What could be the reason? InShot_20200906_102752609Vga.wmv

I've been told that the latest Bosch models when they spin are virtually silent. Is this the case and does any know why? (Without getting too technical)
