Miele washing machines
- This forum is for anything to do with Miele washing machines - BUT NOT repairs
- All repair questions need to be in the following forum - UK Washing Machine Repair Questions
This is because most faults are not specific to a brand. Most faults and fixes are the same for all washing machines. Splitting faults up into different brans causes much duplication and fragmentation of answers

I am a habitual buyer of cheap washing machines and to my cost I have had 6 machines in the last 11 years and consider myself fortunate if they last 2 years, I think I was fooled into this by the first cheap machine I ever brought which was a Dixons own brand which lasted 3 years, the worst I ever had was a indesit and it lasted 12 months having been repaired under guarentee twice. I considered a Miele the last time I brought a machine but with my past experinece I struggle to believe a washing machine really can last 10 years. Would I have to have the machine serviced annually by a miele engineer for the guarentee to remain valid ? Also a big thank you I have foun…

Hi I have just taken delivery of a miele washer/dryer but the fellow who installed it didn't take the plastic cover on the front of the glass door. i rang Miele and they said it should come off with a screwdriver. I tried very gently but the plastic sheet cracked and I am having trouble getting it off the door. Do you have any suggestions? it is not mentioned in the manual thanks Sweal

Hi there, My AEG Lavomat 610 has just finally given up on me - it has been my companion for just over 13 years !!! It isn't starting at all - it seems to be a problem with the catch and it realising that it needs to start the cycle ! (sorry for the naff explanation but I am no engineer!) We are ready to say goodbye to it as it also sounds like Concorde (in its hay day) as the bearings are starting to go - we know that it is going to cost a fair bit to replace bearings, drum etc so have decide to get a new one. We have been told that AEG are not what they used to be and so after listening to a friend's Miele (or rather struggling to - as it was so quiet) we decided to op…

Due to a lack of spin from our old (6yrs) Zanusi we were eventually driven to consider a new washing machine. We had only recently comletely redone our kitchen with a white theme and at that time the existing Miele range was that yuck creme colour and so was not considered and we stuck with our existing machine. I was therefore happy to see that Miele have now changed to awhite for their appliances. Following further investigation of speification and cost we opted for the W1514. Duly ordered on a friday morning it was delivered that afternoon. We carefully read the instructions and connected up. One thing I wouls say is that it is heavy at 99kg which is a good thing as…

Thanks to your very helpful advice I an antisipating the arrival of my Miele Paramount ( from John Lewis ) this Friday and I'm quite excited ( a bit sad really ). So once I have had it for a few weeks I will let you know how I get on with it. Mostly my washing machines last 6-7 years and although my Hotpoint Aquarius is still working it's so noisy!!! I've had the engineer out and he says its fine, but I can't stand the row any longer. At the moment Miele machines with the "honeycomb " drum come with 10 year free parts and labour warranty ...we'll have some of that said my other half. I have aquired truck loads of helpful advice to look after my new machine as I must admit…

I just bought a Miele W1213 (in Australia), and starting up the initial program the machine leaked!!! Every time the machine would draw water, most of it would emerge from underneath. Thank God the machine was standing right above a drain. Miele immediately decided to send me a new new one, but still, this was a very disappointing start. Anyone else out there with similar problems? And no, I did not make any mistakes during the installation; the tab didn't leak, and the fluff filter was tight. I just hope the new one, arriving tomorrow, will be ok. After an overseas trip my laundry is piling up!

Many thanks to you for your website’s information. It helped my fiancé (now wife) and I decide on what washer to buy since our Hotpoint broke down again. I suppose it’s wasn't bad after 7 years but it has been repaired four times. It had been vibrating very badly during the spin cycle and there was a lot of dark grey grease and powder under the machine but it’s finally decided to no longer sense that the waster has emptied out before spinning. I cleared the sump filter as you mentioned on the website (found half a bra, 72p in change, some chain and a small mosaic stone). Anyway, we decided on a Miele 526 and got it at a great price from our local Comet in Leicester’s Fos…
