- This forum is for anything to do with Miele washing machines - BUT NOT repairs
- All repair questions need to be in the following forum - UK Washing Machine Repair Questions
This is because most faults are not specific to a brand. Most faults and fixes are the same for all washing machines. Splitting faults up into different brans causes much duplication and fragmentation of answers

Thanks to this forum I just bought a new W1512 washer. What a fantastic machine!! Even the transit bars were a work of art! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO quiet too... Anyway I thought I read somewhere that there may be a free 3yr guarantee out theer somewhere to download? I have the 2 yr one, but a free extra year would be nice, just in case...

Hi A newby here and I have narrowed down my next purchase to be a Miele washing machine, due to the build quality and the quietness. However, I am intriged to know, as I am still will to be pursuaded, that as a requirement I would like to be able to wash a king size duvet/dog bed/large items rather than take them to the local launderette (@ £13 a pop!). Can any of the Miele washing machines wash these? If so, which ones, if not, which other makes/models can? Looking forward to any advice.

Do you have to exactly level the machine for optimum use? I have just purchased a W3922 and it is level front to back, but slightly out side to side. Will this make a difference. By the way, Excellent machine. The old adage, you only get what you pay for springs to mind with these machines. The build quality is outstanding and performance superb, very quiet.

As I mentioned in my first post I've justhad first ever problem with my W980 mile washing machine. I would'nt be a bit surprised if the engineer says death by limescale. We moved to North Norfolk about 5 years ago and the water is hurrendous, even compared to Norwich. I use the Tesco limescale prevention tablets every wash and oko magnet ball thingy as well. I was wondering if there's anything else I could or should be doing ? I noticed last night when reading through the intruction manual for the W980 that I have been putting the limescale tab and washig tablets thingys in the wrong order , aprently meile say detergent first lime scale treatment next. Ive bought acou…

I have to say I am losing faith in Miele's guarantee that they will be able to keep machines going for 20 years. Here's my story. In 1994 I bought a Miele washer dryer for £1100, which was used fairly lightly. In 1998 there was a drum problem, so I paid £300 for it to be repaired. This meant a month waiting for an appointment before an engineer could come. When he did arrive he installed the part, but failed to screw it in properly, and the machine nearly exploded when I tried to use it again. I called them again, they came after a few weeks and promised me a new machine if I paid them another £800. I said they must be joking, and refused. Eventually they gave in and sai…

Hi there, My AEG Lavomat 610 has just finally given up on me - it has been my companion for just over 13 years !!! It isn't starting at all - it seems to be a problem with the catch and it realising that it needs to start the cycle ! (sorry for the naff explanation but I am no engineer!) We are ready to say goodbye to it as it also sounds like Concorde (in its hay day) as the bearings are starting to go - we know that it is going to cost a fair bit to replace bearings, drum etc so have decide to get a new one. We have been told that AEG are not what they used to be and so after listening to a friend's Miele (or rather struggling to - as it was so quiet) we decided to op…

Hello all, Hoping to purchase another indestructible Miele but am struggling to get my head around the different model numbers that seem to have the same features. All of the following 9kg 3XX series seem to have identical features, the same price point and a 10 year warranty. Does anyone know the difference, and which is best?! WCG360, WWG360, WSG363, WEG365 To confuse matters further, the Miele 6XX series costs approx the same, has additional features to the 3XX series but only a 5 year warranty. Can anyone help? I'm inclined to go for a 3XX machine for the additional 5 years peace of mind instead of additional featur…

Hi! I want to tell you all about the brilliant aftersales service I recently had on my new Miele Washer Dryer. I have had it about 8 weeks and when it was drying it would make an awful rattling noise generally after some time into the drying cycle and when the machine was particularly hot. The little orange screen also became covered with gibberish and would go out and then if I tapped it would come on. I spoke to Andy (Washerhelp's Sensei) and he advised me to contact Miele right away. When I did I was threatened with the fact that if no fault is found then I would be charged upwards of £90. This really put me off as the fault was intermittent and I felt it would be my…

Miele Appliances are the best I’ve ever used, im only 22yrs old and already own 5 Miele appliances (Washing Machine, Condenser Dryer, Dishwasher, Fridge, Vacuum cleaner) they all fantastic and when it comes to the time of replacing them I will once again go for Miele (once you do Miele there is no going back). Me and my partner once we moved out in to our apartment we bought a top end Hotpoint (baring in mind my mother had her Hotpoint ultima 9 years and ever had a spanner on it) thought it was a solid brand. How far wrong could I be had the machine 6 months and I had the following replacement parts fitted · 2 door seals · 1 motor · 1 pump · 2 bearings · Suspens…

We all know that Miele produce some fantastic washing machines and the after care is like being smothered by a thick feather duvet! Did you know thay also make Dishwashers, Tumble Dryers, Ovens, Hobs and other househld essentials? I know this site is entitled "Washerhelp" but I was wondering if this forum could digress into commenting on Mieles other appliances too?? I have just refitted my kitchen and in addition to my Miele WT2670 washer dryer I now have a Miele H4640 oven, a KM548 hob and a DA446 chimney hood. All look very smart and I am very pleased with them. I knew they wouldnt be a disappointment. Now the motto "anything else is a compromise" sticks with me and…

hello all i have a Miele w3364 washing machine after it having a clean in the soap tray and a couple of 95dg maintenance washes i had a "check inlet" led light appear and the water inlet motor at the back of the soap tray the red wheel kept going round without stopping, allowing water to enter constantly, it burnt the motor out within a few mins so i have new one which is now going around without stopping. Now though the wps in the aquastop hose seems to be stopping the water reaching the machine, if this is activated can it reset itself. i did notice this paragraph in the manual (If you intend to unscrew the Miele Waterproof system hose…

Our 13 year old Miele started smoking. Phoned Miele but could not get any technical support told to book an engineer visit. About a week to 10 days. Local engineer same day took 5 mins to diagnose misshapen drum rubbing on seal. Could try a new seal if he could get one (expensive long lead time). Best make it beyond economical repair. Miele delivered new one in 5 days. Expensive but no real option under current conditions.

Hello I've just taken delivery of a new Miele WDA100, and I was surprised to notice as soon as the drum started to rotate that it's not perfectly circular - the lip of the drum (at the front, nearest to the rubber seal) seems to be "out of true" by about 1mm (possibly less) at three separate points. The angle of the lip varies as well as the radius. 1mm doesn't seem like much, but it's more than I'd have expected for a fast-spinning machine. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it considered to be within normal tolerances, or should I be rejecting this machine (delivered only 2 hrs ago)? Thanks

Can you help? We invested in a Miele washing machine while living in Germany and brought it back to the UK with us four years ago. It is only 6 years old and is broken. A reliable repair man thinks it is either the motor or the board. I have found out from Miele that their service man charges a £90 call out fee, a new motor would cost £295 + call out + VAT and a new board £426 ++. I am so annoyed and frustrated at having spent £1000 on a wahing machine that is no better than a cheap throw-away. Any advice?

Hi all, I'm thinking about buying the Miele Prem 520. I like the look of this and my budget can just about stretch to the 499.95 price tag. Miele seem to be a good quality manufacturer - even though I'm getting one at the lower end of the Miele scale, would the forum regard it as a good buy. Thanks in advance for your comments Regards Dave

Hi Folks My first post - just like to say that I find this website such an excellent resource - reliable trustworthy advice from Mr WasherHelp and real-life experiences from the other forum members. We need a new washing machine that goes under the counter in our new house because the Whirlpool AWT5108 (toploader) has been stuck in the middle of the utility room floor since we moved in 2+ years ago. It really is time I did something about it and what with the cost of modifying the worktops - might as well buy a front loader and stick it under the worktop. It's gotta be a Miele because we love them. It doesn't need to be fancy. Having read the advice on WasherHelp we pl…

I have taken delivery of a W2209i washing machine which I am thrilled with. The wash quality is excellent and itr is so quiet. BUT I am not sure about the drain filter. Today I iopened it for the first time and it poured water all over the floor. It does not look like any drain filter that I have seen before, cannot see any mesh or anything to clean. Can anyone help me please?

I am a habitual buyer of cheap washing machines and to my cost I have had 6 machines in the last 11 years and consider myself fortunate if they last 2 years, I think I was fooled into this by the first cheap machine I ever brought which was a Dixons own brand which lasted 3 years, the worst I ever had was a indesit and it lasted 12 months having been repaired under guarentee twice. I considered a Miele the last time I brought a machine but with my past experinece I struggle to believe a washing machine really can last 10 years. Would I have to have the machine serviced annually by a miele engineer for the guarentee to remain valid ? Also a big thank you I have foun…

Where on earth can one buy spare parts for both a W863 washing machine and a T495C tumble dryer? I need a new soap dispensing drawer for the washing machine and a condenser for the tumble dryer. My machines are both 5 years old. Neither requires the need for an engineer.
