We are looking at getting a laminate floor fitted in our kitchen. I have heard stories good and bad about washing machines damaging them when you get them in and out from under the work top. I'd love to hear some experiences please

Hi all, hope you can help. I've moved in with the Mrs and discovered that the washing machine is plugged into the hot tap. I've never heard of a machine where it's not supposed to be plugged into the cold, so I figured I'd check online to make sure, but I can't find any reviews or a user manual on the internet and the Swan helpline isn't open on weekends so I'm a little stuck. Could anyone confirm if it's got its own heating unit and I should switch it to the cold tap? Thanks in advance!

Hi all! I am looking for a suggestion of a model of washing machine where what i want to do will be possible. I am looking for something not too big (6-8kgs max) Due to the low mains power availability on a boat, I cannot use the electric heating elements, however I have a gas boiler (and engine) to provide hot water as well as a diesel heater to provide hot air. So i would like to modify this washing machine to bypass the electric elements, run straight from hot water and the drier to run from the air piped from the diesel heater If cars are anything to go by these days i would assume washing machines would get upset when you go diconnecting…

Hi there let, would you be able to recommend us a washing machine? Let me explain our current set up Washer 9kg indesit innex 6 years old now making loud noise on spin i suppect bearings gone. We have a 4 appliance plan with D&G and engineer coming out on monday 6th. Im hoping he will write it off due to sealed drum. If he writes it off then hopefully insurance will replace like for like. If not we will buy new Heres our problem... not sure if we would want to have same washer machine again. But its what to buy next time?? Ive been looking and with a budget about £300 and sales on, hotpoint zanussi and beko are the 3 that pop up on the web …

HELP!!! I have a front loading Frigidaire (Electrolux) washer about 12 years old. I have replaced the pump, motor, shock absorbers, and that rubber drain thing under the drum. after I replaced the pump the motor went. so I replaced the motor. I noticed one of the shock absorbers was busted and it wasn't spinning so replaced both. After all this it didn't do anything but take water on. in my frustration I took the drum and shook it! To my surprise it started to agitate and then it stopped after 10 seconds... I shook it again aned it started again... this went on and on until the spin cycle where it went through the entire spin cycle on its own. does anybody know what c…

I have recently had an integrated machine installed (a Zanussi Z716WT83BI Washer Dryer). The installer has continued the kitchen skirting around the front of the machine. According to the diagrams in the user manual, this obscures the pump and it's filter from being accessed. Am I being stupid, or is this the case? Has the installer made a mistake which means I can't access the pump and filter to clean it?

Hi, I started to use my new machine (Beko WTG620M1W 6kg 1200rpm Freestanding Washing Machine) only to discover it has very poor stability. Even after adjusting its feet to make it perfectly level, it still moves around. Not only that, during spin-drying it sort of jumps from its left feet to its right feet, making a tremendous noise and making itself really go through a rough time. It's literally violent and almost scary to watch from closeby. It also hits the cupboard nearby. In other words, it's a disaster. Any idea how to keep such machine still? (and, is it me or this is bad design?)

So I was watching TV and I could hear my washing machine . It was filling up with water but it sounded like it was running . The machine was turned off at the mains button but was switched on at the plug socket . When i turned it off at the wall it stopped filling . It hasn't been used in days either

For reasons beyond this post's topic I unboxed my machine (Beko WTG620M1W 6kg 1200rpm Freestanding Washing Machine) after the return period expired and it had a defect in the back (see attached pictures). It's basically a long split in the bottom part of the back. My question is: could this affect the machine's long term function or life expectancy somehow?

I've recently moved into a new flat and bought a washing machine. Come to install it, and there's nowhere for the outlet pipe to go. It's in a kitchen with a section of space for the washing machine where the hot/cold inlets are, but nowhere for the outlet. Under the sink there's a pipe where I guess it could go but no way for it to reach. I appreciate it's difficult to suggest anything without seeing it but does anyone have any suggestions? I've no idea what to do.

I am doing some research for the cost of running a 9kg and 7kg washing machine. This is on behalf of a community in a residential home. The cost of one wash in the laundry room is £2.00. This feels very high. The residents are a captive audience, have health problems that amount to medical reasons for having to do more washing and are physically unable to take washing out into private laundrettes. For most of the residents, there is no room for, nor plumbing, for privately owned machines. Sorry for the long post but I hope someone can help/advise! We need a slim depth washer dryer for our new place, needs to be slimmer than 57cm and actually be able to dry as we will be unable dry stuff outside etc. We don't have enough space for a separate tumble dryer so his is our only option really! Hi everyone, my old Miele Novotronic Premier 520 has died after many years I bought it originally because it had a button on the the top panel that opened the washer door. This was so useful as I have arthritis and can't tug at doors to open them. Anyone know if any washers on the market have similar push button door openings, or at least easy to open doors. Hi, I've never had a washing machine before and I'm about to get a new one delivered and I just have one question that no one on the internet seems to be answering....I understand that I must connect the water pipe inlet connection to the tap and then turn the tap to the 'On' position, but when my washing machine is turned off and the washing machine stops water from entering, where does all that water go from the tap that is still in 'On' position? ( I know some people turn it off preventing leaks but I'm asking what stops that flow of water from the tap in 'On' position in the first instance - how does it work? What stops usage of water when the washing machine is off …

Hello I bought this whirlpool machine a couple of weeks ago: 3LWTW4705FW It’s hot and cold supply. The appliance specialist who sold me it told me to arrange a hot supply. I did that but it’s off a small electric water heater used for a sink. He fitted the machine. Now there’s an issue with the capacity of the heater as I could smell burning plastic. Is there any way of telling how big a heater you need to run the machine? The manual isn’t helpful other than pressure figures. Also, could a Y piece be used to make the two inlets use cold supply? I’ve read that this works in other machines. thank you!

Hi all - I kind of remember reading about a service feature on my AEG washer where I could display the actual temperature sensor reading on the display while running a normal wash - so without entering the diagnostic mode with no laundry loaded. Can anybody help? Thanks!

We have Bosch WAE 24361, for 9 years, which already did over 4000 washing cycles for us, and still running strong. We have done some repairs, some on our own, some in shop. We replaced shock absorbers, motor carbon brushes, and motor bearings. Tub bearings seem to be in good shape. Some tedious maintenance cleaning and a bit of descaling had to be done along the line. Curious of other people with similar experiences. Thanks.

Hi all, My friend is looking for an extremely large capacity washing machine for her home. She is american, so used to the larger offerings available over there. She largely wants this as she has dogs so often chucks their entire beds and blankets in. So, I think what she mainly needs is large volume (litres) rather than necessarily weight - and that's the first problem. UK machines are largely advertised by weight. I've seen 10kg (commercial machines) with, when you dig into it, bigger drum sizes than 13kg ones. grr. So hard to find. Hi I'm planning to install a new kitchen within the next few months to include an integrated washing machine. Unfortunately my stand alone washing machine has just broken beyond repair. Should /can I purchase a new integrated machine without cupboard doors to use now and then get the doors added when the kitchen gets installed.
