Important buying advice
Most washing machine reviews focus on how fast it spins, what options it has etc. But surely the most important buying decision is which brand to buy?
This decision alone determines the quality of the appliance you will get, how long it is likely to last, its reliability, and how easy it will be to buy parts and to get it repaired in the future. Only then should you start to investigate specific features. You can use Washerhelp's reviews and buying advice pages to help make this most important decision.
Washing machine manufacturers rarely (if ever) vary the quality of their washing machines. Instead, if they want to sell in a higher or lower quality band they buy up other companies and sell through a totally different brand name [ Who owns who? Who really makes your washing machine. ] If a company makes quality appliances, then all their models are usually the same quality except with varying features. If they make flimsy washing machines then all their range will tend to be the same quality too - even their expensive ones with bells and whistles.
The difference between any manufacturer's basic model and their top model is not the quality, but features such as spin speeds, drums sizes and other options. [related advice: If I buy a more expensive washing machine, do I get a better washing machine?] So although Washerhelp's washing machine reviews are relatively small in quantity (so far), they are useful for telling you about the most important issues regarding any particular brand being reviewed.
If you find a washing machine in a review that impresses you, then even if you can't find the exact particular model reviewed, you can look at other washing machines from this manufacturer, with similar features, and be confident that you understand what kind of appliance you are buying.

There's never been so many different washers to buy. Why do we need so many brands? Most of them are nothing special and extremely similar to their competition. In fact much of the so-called competition is often just other washing machines made by the same company - sometimes with few real differences inside.
For example, if you bought an Indesit and didn't rate it, so you then bought a Creda and didn't like that either, and then you bought a Hotpoint - you have just spent several years buying washing machines from the same company - all made to virtually the same standard with many of the parts inside the same. ( Who owns who? Who really makes your washing machine? )
Instinctively, we tend to trust what our repairman thinks about a washing machine. Most people would tend to trust their judgement over that of a salesperson in a store. After all, who knows more about the washing machine? Only the makers I would say, but they are biased. This section lists my free comprehensive reviews.
