Product safety recalls (Washing machines and other white goods appliances)
Product safety recalls tip
Always send off your guarantee registration card to ensure you are notified
of any safety recalls affecting your washing machine (or any other appliance).
If a company discovers a serious fault that needs a modification, the
first thing they do is contact all customers known to have purchased the
affected product through their guarantee card database. After that, they
can only put advertisements in the press and hope people contact them and you can easily miss them.
Check for safety recalls or warnings -
All recalls and safety warnings have been moved to a special section on my white goods blog which is better suited to the job - Product recalls and safety Warnings for white goods You can add your comments and (optionally) receive email notifications.Useful product safety recalls link - covering all appliances and any product or foodstuff
The following link goes to an external site. To open it in a new, separate window, just hold the shift key while clicking (works on most browsers) or right click the link and select "open in new tab" (or window).
Here is the Trading standards recalls site which has an excellent list of safety related product recalls covering all appliances in the home and anything else you can buy including kids toys and food. It's well worth book-marking and checking regularly.
