  1. Hi, Over the last few months, my washing machine doesn't always spin out properly at the end of a cycle, and the clothes, although not sopping wet, need an extra spin. It is odd that even though it doesn't spin at the end of a wash cycle, if I then set it to "drain/spin" it spins OK. The (Miele) machine has taken a bit of a battering as for 2 of the 7 years, I ran a B&B and regularly used it 3 or 4 times a day loaded with heavy egyptian cotton bedding (often slightly overloaded). I'm just wondering if it is worth spending that kind of money to repair, or should we replace it? I have cleaned the filter and run the machine twice with HG Service Engineer. I also use a Lidl limescale tablet about every other wash so I doubt the machine is scaled.
  2. I would stick to buying a Miele machine and buy Spundown duvets as they are designed to squash up enough to fit in a standard machine. Theyare made by The Fine Bedding Company and have won a Queens award. They are about £70 for a kingsize but worth it. I own a 5 star B&B and guests often comment on the duvets and ask where they can buy them. As a bonus, they can be washed at 60 degrees which kills dustmites. I have a Honeycomb W412 which does approx 20 washes a week and the machine is 3 years old with no problems - despite the fact that I rarely clean the filter (about 3 times in 3 years!) Also - I have often washed large/overweight items in my machine which would probably knacker other machines but the Miele can take a bashing. Also my 5 year old Miele dryer is still going strong.
