  1. Chris, I have already posted a thread on my new 'badged' JLWM 1202 New Arrival!. I am absolutely delighted. It is all and more what washerhelp said it would be. I had owned a Hoover Logic 1200 for the past 20 years ( almost -birthday 5th March) and I can't tell you how much difference there is. I have to say also, I too have bought a few things from JL in the past, they are extremely competative, but more importantly, they do seem to go the extra mile as far as service is concerned - something missing from a lot of retailers these days. The icing on the cake was the 3 year guarantee and I can assure you if you need to call the engineer in that time, there will be no questions asked. yoj13
  2. Hi, I have taken 'onboard' your comments re the castors. At the end of the day, everything is down to cost and things do have to be 'streamlined'. I have to say though in all 20 years of owning the Hoover, not once did it move, even when, on occassions the clothes were probably out of balance. Still, at the end of the day, I've got the 3 year guarantee and should anything untoward happen, it will be the washing machine mechanic who is moving the 1202. Thanks again. Yoj13
  3. Hi, I wish to annouce the arrival of my JLWM 1202 on the 23rd January, 2006 a truly gorgeous addition to our family. She arrived as expected on time and has behaved impreccably since. She is so quiet, I hardly know she is there. Seriously folks, I am delighted with this little baby. It is amazing the difference 20 years on from my Hoover. The only thing I will miss about my old machine, is the fact that it was on castors and made moving it so easy. This JL model is pretty heavy to say the least and even though I have a tiled floor, it was still pretty difficult to manovre into position. That said, I'm sure it will give me years of pleasure! Sincere thanks to washerhelp for all his assistance, it was invaluable. I wish you continued success. Best regards - yoj13
  4. Hi Macladd, I too have had to spend some money this week and with the assistance of washerhelp have now decided on the John Lewis 1202. After I had placed the order, someone wrote a review on the 'John Lewis' forum and he speaks very highly of it so it was more re-assurance in a way. Looks are un-important as it will be unseen, so performance was more important to me. Its the same price as the AEG at JL, but the 3 year guarantee clinched the deal. I would not buy Bosch again as I have been really disappointed with my dishwasher. It periodically flooded the kitchen and I wouldn't dared have gone out and left it on and when the engineer came out from Bosch, he said it was in perfect working order. Incidentally, it was only just out of its guarantee and only used twice a week at the most. He hadn't got to the end of the road when it flooded again. Boy was I mad. I rang the service department again and they sent someone else, who spotted the problem almost immediately. Fingers crossed, its been OK since, but it did need a new part. If you do decide to buy from JL, don't forget to go through washerhelps site. I don't know whether I can post codes on here but theres a £15 off a £75 spend at JL and every little helps. I could email it to you if you wish. regards - yoj 13
  5. Hi, I was really interested to read your feedback on the JLWM1202. With Washerhelps knowledgable assitance, I too have just placed an order (yesterday) for the same model. Interestingly, I am also replacing a Hoover (Logic 1100) which will be 20 years old on the 5th March, 2007. In all that time, it has had some new bushes and a new door seal, so it owes me nothing. It is immaculate inside and out and as performance and reliability goes, I can't complain. I remember when I first bought it, one of the deciding factors was it was on castors and not many machines these days seem to have this feature. It certainly is very useful when you do need to move the machine and I wish more manufacturers would consider it today. For now, I'm quite excited about the new delivery!!!!!!!!!! - yoj 13
  6. Hi, I am really sorry to hear of your wifes disappointment with the Sebo and sincerely hope she gets to grips with it. When I bought mine it was replacing an Electrolux and before that a Hoover Junior and in comparison to those models, I literally thought the Sebo was power assisted and the extra long cable that comes as standard, well I thought I was in Heaven! I wouldn't part with good money for one of those ugly Dysons and would go so far as to say I wouldn't have one for free. Oh well, back to washing machines which is my priority at the moment. Thanks again. Yoj 13
  7. Hi, Just ignore my question re you getting your recc as I have re-read your answer and now realise the way to go. The first time it was read in a hurry before I replied last night. Thank you very much. I will keep you informed. Last night I was going to go for the JLWM, now looking at the AEG again! Oh decisions, decisions, but thanks at lot for all your input. Regards - yoj13
  8. Hi Washehelp, Thank you very much indeed for your extensive reply and it is very much appreciated. Our nearest JL is 38 miles away so I have been into Currys today and 'used their facilities' so to speak. They had the Zanussi 1221 at the same price as JL. Of course they didn't have the JL 1202 and they had the AEG L72---- which I have to say looked very nice, very modern and stylish. However, my washing machine isn't on display so looks are un-important to me and I am more interested in performance! So, in order for me to get you your reccommendation, (you earned every penny as far as I am concerned), do I have to order online, via the telephone or by visiting the shop? Any way makes no difference to me, just let me know. By the way, you have made a wonderful choice with your Sebo cleaner and I'm sure your wife won't be disappointed. I too could be on commission as 4 of my friends when renewing their vacumn's have bought Sebo. They are a fab piece of kit. By the way, slightly cheaper online, but of course come with only 12 months guarantee as opposed to JL's 2, so JL win again in my book. Once again, thank you very much indeed - yoj13.
  9. Hi washerhelp, Out of the AEG 52180, Zanussi ZWF1221 or the JLWM 1202 (would buy from John Lewis as I agree totally with what you say about them) which one would you choose please. I hear all you say about the Miele but the cheapest I can find is £452 from Curry's and unfortunately I'm not their biggest fan! (They treat my best friend shamefully and I haven't forgotton it) I just don't even consider them anymore. As I said, my Hoover Logic hasn't totally given up the ghost yet but as she's 20 years old almost, time isn't on her side. Still washing OK, but won't spin the clothes (bushes OK) but spins when machine is empty. Bit like me, old age I suppose. Anyhow, thanks again for your invaluable help. Regards - yoj13
  10. Hi, Thank you very much for your swift replies! I am now going to check the 'shopbots' for prices for both Miele W1512 and the AEF L 5/621810 and see what comes up. Someone mentioned on another thread that they picked up the Miele for just over £400 (I think at Currys with a code) which is really cheap and if I can find it around this price, I will take the advice I have been given and go for the Miele. So its off to do some searching and spend some of my hard earned cash. Thank you so much once again. Regards - yoj 13
  11. Hi, I have just found this website today and to say I'm impressed is an understatement so thank you washerhelp! Sadly, my old Hoover 1100 Logic appears to have come to the end of its useful life and whilst I have read your interesting article on Miele, I really wondered what you thought about the AEG L62810 which I can pick up at John Lewis for a very attractive £299 including a 2 year guarantee and free delivery. My friend has an AEG (replaced Zanussi) , its virtually never off, but she is really more than satisfied. It was more than the price quoted above, but as its a built in model, they usually are. Freestanding is perfectly OK for me. Regards - yoj13
