  1. Thank you Andy. I have found your articles very interesting and helpful. I didn't realise choosing a washing machine could be so complex and enjoyable (until now I've always bought the highest speed with lowest cost!) I feel I've chosen the best for me (considering price) taking into consideration all your informative variables - thanks for sharing your knowledge. Cheers x
  2. Thank you - for understanding my dilemma and signposting me to your most informative article on spin speeds, with a host of useful comments following on. I noticed a B rating for the machines I moved on to look at, then found another helpful article of yours that put these ratings into perspective also. So, narrowed down choice to lower price Meile or John Lewis, and now decided - I think : ) JLWM1411 is £100 less than the 1600rpm I was going for, a review of it mentions how dry the washing comes out, and unlike the Meile I couldn't really just about afford, the JL has 8kg drum, leaving plenty of extra time to do other household drudgery, and a timer delay to take advantage of my solar panels. Your support very much appreciated. Thank you.
  3. Yes, 3 year guarantee - good point. Now you've put the cat amongst the pigeons! I don't mind paying the extra for a 1600rpm, if it'll give the long suffering radiators a lighter load. My friend who recommended your wonderfully helpful site remarked on the minimal difference in an increased spin speed, but I couldn't find that info. Do you reckon there is scant advantage to 1600 v 1400rpm? And would you rate JL much higher than LG? Your opinion much appreciated. And thanks for your previous helpful and swift response.
  4. I thought I'd decided, the John lewis jlwm1605, then I found the lgf1681td, similar specifications, 8kg, 1600rpm, and £100 or so cheaper, but reviews mention, apart from unhelpful delivery men, the excessive shake rattle and rolling during the fast 1600rpm spin. This can't be good for long term health of the whole machine. Any thoughts or comments to cure my indecisiveness?
