  1. I have just acquired this machine which is 2 years old. Im not sure when it was last used. When checking the dryer program it immediately blew a load of white/dark grey kind of grit mixed with sand into the door gasket. I've taken the top of to inspect and noted it has a kind of white furry powder stuck around the fan housing, looks very much like when a battery leaks acid and it firs up. I really don't want to strip the dryer part as I know how difficult it is to take apart. Any advice appreciated please as what it could be and whether I should inspect further. I am guessing maybe it's just a build up of lint etc?
  2. I acquired this machine to try and fix! Model number ZKN7147J. Machine wont fill upon start. If i manually fill it with a bucket, the valves then kick in to top up. The program carries on, spins out but then wont fill again for the rinse. Water is taken in for the dryer though. It also took in water for the 90 degree wash cool down??!! I have had the machine apart today, cleaned all pipes and filters. Ive checked all wiring also. Im guessing it needs a new inlet valve but feel its not really worth it for the age of the machine. Anyone any ideas? Could it be the PCB? Thanks in advance.
  3. I thought I would just check the pulley bolt and can you believe this was loose, almost loose enough to turn by hand. Now tightened, the machine has no knocking! Never thought a loose pulley bolt would do that - just hope no more damage has been done whilst this worked itself loose.
  4. Thanks for your quick reply. I have had the back off, and it sounds like its coming from inside the drum/inner tub area. All I can think of is the inner door/s have become loose and are moving slightly due to centrifuge? I am puzzled, but can't put up with the row so think it will end up on ebay when I have found another machine!
  5. The best machine I have ever had, but has started making a racket on spin and seems to be a complete mystery. It is more of a tapping noise which gets louder as the spin increases. This is with a full or empty drum. Washing cycles are fine. I don't think it is the bearings as it isn't a rumble ( I have even had the belt off and the drum turns fine without noise). I have had the back off and can see nothing knocking. When I turn the drum by hand it does make a slight clunk at the same point in each turn. I wondered if it was the door flaps because it is at the point where they go into the tub backwards, but they seem as good as ever. One of the paddles is slightly loose but nothing major. Any ideas as I really don't want to get rid of this, and top loaders are so expensive!
  6. Thanks for that Andy, but I gave up! I was beaten! No flashing lights on this machine. I wanted to get to the pressure chamber, but it was impossible to get to on this machine as it was right in the middle and seemed to part of the whole drum chamber, so no bottle to disconnect. Im sure it would have either been that or the PCB, but i gave up as I didnt think spending money on a 5 year old Servis machine would be worth it, and also the bearings I could hear were on their way out. Also, one of the only washer dryers I have seen with no low heat setting?
  7. I bought a second hand Servis washer dryer (M9824S) from Ebay thinking I could fix the problem of it not wanting to fill (?blocked pressure chamber). Thing is I have googled everything on here now and still it refuses to fill with water at the start of a program! It starts with the pump kicking in for a few seconds(which it should) - then nothing! If I leave it about 20 seconds, the pump kicks in again. I have checked pressure switch (blew down the pipe both ends, it clicked as it should), ALL wire connections on whole of machine(all are connected and none seem broken), cleaned out pump, PCB all seems connected with no burnt out capacitors/wires(actually looks new), all pipes are connected and not blocked. The man I bought it from replaced the whole inlet valve thinking this was the problem. If I fill the machine manually, it will go through a program and the dryer works, it just wont fill! I don't have a meter to test the wires on the solenoid valves, but think these are ok because when the machine switches on all the pipes twitch as if it is going to fill. Have I missed something? The machine is quite dirty inside and smelly. but I have cleaned out the pump including the ping pong ball and pipes(they were very gunky) Any help appreciated as I don't really want to dump such a smart machine.
