Dorothy, I would guess that it has more to do with what detergent you are using if the machine has no sharp edges that could cause the damage. Check the rubber door seals because if they are broken, your clothes may be getting caught on the edge of the door. More than that I cannot think what it could be, sorry. Pieter in Scotland.

I believe that the door glass shape causes by design the water flow to keep the washing in the middle of the tub.

Rick, it sounds like the motor is kaput, but the way to be sure is to remove the rear casing so that you can see the drum. Always unplug the machine before any procedure, then make sure you are safe and switch the machine on to a running cycle. If the motor is not running you have found your problem. You may need a experienced engineer or a new machine. Check all the prices before you commit yourself to any repairs, they can be costly. I hope that helps.

It all depends on your requirements. Will it be a fitted built-in machine? If so then Zanussi make a good, reliable model. If it's a stand alone machine, Bosch are extremely reliable, reasonably quiet machine at a good price. Usually I buy the middle of the range model as the cheaper end tend to be tinny and made with cheap materials. Also, the middle range machines are sturdier and a better quality finish. It can be false economy to by cheap. Incidentally, I have an Integrated Electronic New Jetsystem Turbo Washer Dryer ... It cost £570.00 including VAT. Hope that helps.

Sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your Miele Wash Machine. I had a Miele for many years when I lived in Germany and never had any problems with it. Perhaps you are unlucky or maybe I was very lucky. Having said that, the consumer magazine "Which" rates Miele as the best buy in Wash Machines. I recently nearly bought one but was put off by the cost, so I bought a Zanussi. As to getting a replacement card ... you could try www.espares.co.uk. Good luck! We have had a new kitchen fitted including new appliances. Unfortunately, the users manual for the Washer / Dryer has been lost by the kitchen fitters. If anyone has a Zanussi ZKI245 users manual and could photo-copy it as a PDF or any other convenient format, please reply to this message and I will send you my email address. Needless to say, I would pay for any expenses that would be incurred. I contacted Zanussi direct and they tell me that they do not replace lost or stolen paperwork items that go missing.
