Hi. I have the dreaded no-spin problem with above 3-year-old machine. It started intermittently, got more frequent over several weeks, and is now total. Checked out all the usual suspects, and even replaced the PCB (£70!) No joy. When trying a test run with the top off and 4 wet shirts in drum, it leaps around thumping loudly for a few seconds before stopping. Also the bracket inside the rear panel where the earths are attached has actually been snapped off by the very violent movement of the drum. Could this all be caused by worn springs and/or dampers, and is it worth replacing them all to find out? Thanks.

Hello Hugo. It sounds like the damage is being caused by the thumping about, which in itself is caused by the motor shooting straight into spin for some reason. Swapping parts is a bad policy and can be very time consuming and expensive. No part should be replaced unless you know it's definitely faulty. It sounds like a possible faulty connection somewhere, or maybe the tacho coil has come off the motor.
